Doesnt make sense to me, granted you do need to have some balls to go over 300 mph, but come on man, when the light goes green put the pedal to the medal and hold the wheel doesnt take much skill IMO...
it takes a little more skill than that, but not really much more.
which is why I like motorcycle road racing, that takes a TON of skill.
jsut doing track days at a pace not even resembling lap times of a pro, let alone amateur race at the same track is a lot of work, fun work, but it takes a lot of skill.

Most people wound not be able to do a proper burnout in a prostock or fuel car, let alone cut a light and get the car down the track.
MOSTpeople couldnt do a burnout or launch in my CHALLENGER let alone a pro stock or fuel car!!!
Guys come on, I can understand MotorX but not drag racing, you just go straight, and who the hell cannot do burn out, I can do one in my duramax!

If I had to tell you,,, you wouldn't understand!!! You wouldn't believe how "busy" it is trying to launch a 73 challenger let alone a fuel car!!!! I suppose you would have to be there!!! It's REAL BORING trying to watch the WHOLE FIELD at once going around in circles,, and MOST OF THE TIME, you don't even see the crashes until they are almost over with!!! Everyone basically has the SAME TUNE UP and uses the SAME parts,,, so HOW COMPETITIVE OR INTENSE is it??????? It takes a LOT MORE BRAINS to get another TENTH out of a 6000HP motor than to add a shim in the right front suspension!!!!

either way nhra or nascar. they would be both fun to drive. i would have to agree with cacsrx1 though nascar is becoming a big money thing if one team don't have the money they should just as well sell beer in the stands, cause they don't have a chance to compete on the track. it's getting way to political. i think this year will be good with hendrix though i hope them 3 start arguing and wreck every week.

It isn't so bad when you're doing 60' in 1.28 secs in a 3250lb car with the wheels 3' off the ground til you grab 2nd, and then it still rides out almost til you grab 3rd... That really isn't the tough part, it's when the car starts walking around at the big end at about 140...

Ahhhh, the age old racing guy argument. Gotta love it. Myself, I can't see the attraction to wrenching on a car all day at the track for 10 sec runs. I'd rather bust my butt during the week and 'watch' most of the racing from the box, but thats me. To each their own. I do have trouble watching it on TV though, not the same rush you get from being in the thick of it(pits wise) for 200+ laps. Going over the wall is always good for the heart.
Its the 5 and 6 second runs that you have to wrench all day,,,, My challenger runs 10.250 (best) and I didn't even have to lift off the hood ALL WEEKEND at the MOPAR NATIONALS in Ohio this past summer!!! Its VERY NICE getting the MONSTERS out and having a car that doesnt need 10 guys to fix at LEAST 6 or 7 times during the race!!! They are CONSTANTLY WORKING ON THOSE CARS DURING THE RACE!!!!! Why do you think they call NASCAR, HILLBILLY CHESS?????
LMAO, constantly workin on the cars! Dude you have to make adjustments on any type of car and race. If your telling me that your NHRA cars roll out of the trailer and are track ready 100% of the time your a dumba$$. No matter what type of race or even sport for that matter you have to make adjustments....

coles, If you want to see some real racing this year, head to the ama superbike races at road america. I will be there for at least one of the 2 days, if not both race days.
the races are june 5-8 this year, and they are a really fun time.
heck, I open this up to all TY members. And yeah, I will have beer, well provided that 50 TY members don't show up. LOL

I ADJUST MY UNDERWEAR Because it has a tendency to get RAMMED UP MY BUTT from the UNBELIEVABLE HORSEPOWER that old MOPAR makes.. You guys are probably watching those GENERAL MOTORS cars and KNOW NOTHING about REAL MOPAR horsepower!!! Thats it!!!! I FIGURED IT OUT AGAIN!!!!!
HILLYBILLY CHESS lovers???????
Mopar LMAO!!!! More like no power mopar....
