Yep, no buddy but Dodge built muscle cars..........???????HMMMMMMMM

Plymouth Cuda, AAR, would run hard with the Dodge, ahhhhhhhh same powerplant & chassis, Plymouth Roadrunner, GTX, etc.

Oh yeah Lets see who else built muscle:
GM, Chevy's 348 Tri Power, 409, SS 396, SS454, Vettes 327,350,401,427, Camaros with a built 327,
Poncho's GTO's 389 Tri Powers, 421
Olds 442, 455's
Buicks with 455's

Ford, 289's, 302's,351C, 390's, 427 & 428CJ's
Any of these motors in Cougars, Stangs, Torino's, Cobra's etc. could be strong.

Hey I am a BIG fan of MoPar muscle, had new 70 Cuda, 340 in my senior year,
(Yep, I am an old guy!!) & it was quick, but guess what, some of those "other cars" could be a serious threat when we did the ole Fri night
country road drags. Almost a version of "Pinks" LOL

No question, MoPar was doing a damn nice job then & the cars a highly sought after, but..............they are not the "only muscle" car out there.
And MoPars current "Hemi" is joke compared to the original ones, HP wise & pure "brute torque" Good motor, but I will take a 66-70 Hemi any day over what they are building now!!

I appreciate ALL muscle cars out of that era, loved the cars from the mid 60's to 73 when the epa stuck their nose in & everything got de tuned.

Of course, this is the classic Ford-Chevy-Plymouth-Dodge-Poncho etc. arguement......Rock ON !!!

lol im the same as you racerob6m.... i appreciate them all, wish i was born in that generation actually so i could have enjoyed cars like that. I'm a hardcore mopar/dodge man thats why lol.... heck i'd take any of those old muscle cars if someobody was givin them away.... but if i were to buy one it would definately be a cuda.

Big Nascar fan!

I live in Statesville NC. Evernham is in statesville, Mooresville is 15 miles south. That has DEI, Roush, Yates and a bunch more. I work in Winston Salem and am only a few miles from RCR. I have good friends that work for Gibbs, DEI, RCR, Yates, Hendrick, Roush and many more. One of my best friends builds trannys and rear ends for Evernham. Its everywhere here. I was a 3 man through and through. Ofcourse i'm a Jr fan. But its just not like it used to be. Brian France is single handidly bringing this sport to its knees! I say #$%&* U France!

Gordo Pics !!

Hey, here are some good Gordo car pics!!

My son & built this one a few years back.......LOL :bump:

Sorry, while I respect his driving capabilites, just never have liked him!!!

I am an "old school" NA$CAR kinda guy, I like the drivers that actually have wrenched on their cars etc. as they came up thru the ranks & know how to weld & where the spark plugs are & had grease under their finger nails at one time
Rusty Wallace, Mark Martin, Richard Petty, Kenseth, Biffle, Labonte, Burton, etc. Not the "new pretty boys" Hee Hee.

Did you ever see Gordo with dirt on his hands from wrenching on ANYTHING.
I dont think so, even in his 1/4 midget days, he always had "people" for that!!
This should start something.........

Thanks!!! Now if I could only CUT A LIGHT with it!!!!

there is part of the skill of drag racing....

hand eye coordination, and lightning fast reflexes, fireproof suits, and depends

LOL

i am a race fan. we live about 5 miles south of chicagoland speedway and the route 66 dragway. at any time if we are bored we just head on down there and there is something going on!
i'm not saying who i pull for or my favorite manufacturer because that will just start an argument but i do love racing and if any one is ever heading to the joliet area shoot me a pm. maybe we can meet up for a beverage or something at the track!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Formula 1. That's racing.

I'm in the Nascar is boring crowd. More road races would be good for them but the cars still suck. Nascar is not IROC.

F1 is crazy. Crazy power, Crazy handling, Crazy money. They run in the rain. They cannot drive them slow. There is a real starting line. It takes one hell of a good driver to even get one of the F1 cars to even go around the track. Not one track that comes to mind is an oval. There are even hills imagine that.

If I were to compare snowmobiling out on the trail to any form of car racing F1 would be it.

Too bad the US does not really pay that much attention to F1.

Maybe cause NOONE understands FORMULA 1 Racing!!! I was in Las Vegas last spring and saw what they had to do to the DOWNTOWN area in order to make the "track" for the upcoming race!!!!! I thought it looked like some kind of CONCENTRATION camp or something like a PENETENTARY with all the JERSEY BARRIERS and 16 foot high fences!!!! it looked TOO DANGEROUS to even get close!!!! I see how those guys drive!!!! I understand WHY they put up ALL THOSE FENCES!! I watched some kind of FORMULA 1 race although it was at CHICAGOLAND speedway (the one that the town of CICERO SHUT DOWN after 1 season) because it was "too noisy" for the neighbors.. It went around in an OVAL and I really thought it was the SAME AS WINSTON CUP racing and I was GLAD that I got the tickets for FREE and didnt have to pay for them.... VERY BORING and MY NECK HURT by the end of the race!!! I COULD NEVER see the numbers on the cars when the BLASTED in front of me and I NEVER KNEW who was who and who was winning!!!!! I WAS REALLY LOST!!!!! Maybe I NEED a REAL FORMULA 1 RACE to appreciate it PROPERLY????????

I got to agree with you FUZZBUTT!!! You really have to DRIVE THE HELL out of those cars to win!!! if you're NOT a good driver,,, you probably won't make it around the course once or twice!!!!! I SEE YOUR POINT!!!!
