NASCAR? Anyone like it...

yes i realize that the nascar cars are not production based vehicles ,lets get that straight up front!that being said im getting a chuckle out of the few that are bitching about foreign cars in nascar, while on a site dedicated to YAMAHA!even if those cars were real production cars do you realize that the only one really made in the U.S.A is the TOYOTA!nosboy love the challenger!i had a built superbee in the mid-seventys and loved it ,my greatest regret was i could of bought a superbird with the 440 six-pac back then for 4400 and i thought that was too much, lol,i guess the joke was on me!me id love to go to bristol!at night !

nascar... a sport where you go in a circle as fast as you can alot of times. The British know how to race!

Its the 5 and 6 second runs that you have to wrench all day,,,, My challenger runs 10.250 (best) and I didn't even have to lift off the hood ALL WEEKEND at the MOPAR NATIONALS in Ohio this past summer!!! Its VERY NICE getting the MONSTERS out and having a car that doesnt need 10 guys to fix at LEAST 6 or 7 times during the race!!! They are CONSTANTLY WORKING ON THOSE CARS DURING THE RACE!!!!! Why do you think they call NASCAR, HILLBILLY CHESS?????
Just so you know.. The challenger NOW RUNS 9:60's ALL DAY LONG...

I used to be involved with ASA, Nascar late model and one Winston Cup teams back in the day. It was really exciting because they "let boys be boys." Now days watching a Sprint Cup race is more like watching a damn soap opera. I love all the "debris" cautions. They seem to come out just in time to allow a "popular" driver catch up and hopefully make things more interesting. Can anyone tell me the last time they actually showed the debris during a debris caution (oh yeah it was two weeks ago and it was someones baseball cap from the stands and it was up next to the fence)? To me it has become too much big business and a dramatic show. I say let them beat each others fenders in and spin each other out and who ever crosses the finish line first wins instead of havin the debris cautions, lucky-dog, no passing below the line, no bump drafting passing only on the left on restarts, tail-end and lap down cars get to do a drive-around before the next green flag...
And what about the drivers - some of them have been recycled so many times they should be all shiney and new again but they don't perform and are dumped only for another team to pick them back up again instead of bringing in the next up and coming driver get a chance.
Ok, I am off my soap box now - sorry. I like to go out and support my local short track now instead of spending time in front of the T.V. sucking up all the adds that they throw into a race. Its a lot more fun and the kids love it.
