Heres the bike i am buying in Spring...

I like hondas, majority of my buddies ride the rr's (954's,929,900rr)I like the feel of them. Not set on a particular brand, but honda is my first choice.

horkn, you've probably seen the guy on the Silver cbr900rr around town. its almost a chrome paint job.

Yeah, I think I have seen that rr around.

I'm that guy on the loud red Suzuki TL1000S.

I need a bike bad, its great with mileage, and the fun factor is way up there. i hear those new 600rr's are comparable to the older 900rr's (late 90's) power wise. which wouldn't be a bad option i guess... I'm really swingin in the wind here with bikes.

Yes, the newer 600s from any brand are as fast, if not faster than the older 900rr's. They definitely handle better than the original 900rr. The 929 was a rack, ergonomically. Those 900 rr's put down around 110 or so to the wheel if built up. A new 600 of any brand does that, and weighs less, and handles better.

In my opinion, why pay new bike prices on slightly used bikes with no warranty. There are a ton of low milage, clean bikes out there for way less cash.A lot of these bikes already have the upgrades that you would want at the fraction of the price. The example below is a 2004 R1 i bought last spring for 5800.00.This bike was spotless with 850 miles on it.I bought it from a private owner who was going back to school and needed the money. The bike had led flush mount signals up front, rear led signals on passenger pegs, titanium micron exhaust,k+n air filter and a power commander, chrome sportech windshield. If you keep your eyes open these deals pop up from time to time, dont rush.

Yea, next spring will be the time i will be buying, just looking around now, but obviously those deals now could be gone by then, just have to keep looking....

Blueblooded, you got a good deal on that bike. wow!

have my eyes on a repsol bike for sure.

Any idea what a fair price on that 07 repsol would be? I know the dealer likes to rape on prices... 10,500 is high.

400 miles on it! thats barely considering used. but used in deed.

that bike new was probably close to 11,400 Just not sure whats goin on with their mentality with the pricing.

yea, horkn showed me alot of 1000rr's on craigslist that are near me... i realize they are out there, once i get interested in a certain bike its like I GOTTA GET IT, but i need to slow down, really want a repsol bike come spring.... I will be searching craigslist over the next few months to find a deal.

thanks Blueblooded

Blueblooded, that was a smokin deal on that R1.

I hope to be in the position to be able to swoop in on a deal like that in spring. But I think I will look for a dedicated track bike, so maybe a crashed but easy fixer upper.

It is a PITA to convert my street bike to track use, and then back constantly.

For that 07 repsol at Cedar Creek, I would pay no more than 8500, maybe a tad more if it actually had a warranty that was good for at least another year. That dealer almost always is way overpriced on asking price for used stuff. go in armed with information, and you will walk away either with a good deal, or simply walk away.

how much experience do you actually have with the literbikes?? do yourself HUGE favor and TAKE THE COURSE!!!!!!!! wear all the gear you can get, sweat washes off, roadrash doesnt!!! and the repsol is a pretty sweet ride :)

Yamidude59,
I see your looking at 1000s but I have a 03 R6 for sale. Bottom line of $4800 right now only to go up in spring. Here are some pictures: http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=37038&page=16&pp=10 scroll down a few post and you will see my post.

If you would like to know more send me a pm. I worked at a motorcycle dealer for 5 years so there are a lot of goodies on this bike.

Also stay FAR FAR away from Cedar Creek Motorsports. My cousins and I have had nothing but trouble when it comes to buying/trading stuff in. They are a bunch of crooks out there. You want a good bike dealer let me know depending on what you are looking for, just stay away from them!

As close as they are to me, it is the last place I would go to buy a machine, new or used.
Also, I have ridden a friends 03 R6 (same ltd black w/ red flames as Yamahaboy's) and even stock it was enought o get into trouble on. It was this guy's first bike, new rider and bike in 03. He took the MSF course,a nd it helped him out a lot. 4800 is a good deal on that bike. If that is a full micron serpent system, that a one was a good bit of $$. My friend put the Ti serpent system on his 03 r6 and it made a huge difference.

Its just a slip on. The full system is really nice but the bike is already fast, no point in making it faster (would have bought an R1). What I do have done that is well worth it is a power command with a 2 hour dyno session (custom map). It was a new bike to me once I had that done, so much smoother from 4000-9000rpm. Not pictured is Front and Rear vortex sprocket with new chain. Stock gearing because I work 35 minutes from my house and 30mins is on a interstate.

Kinda my first bike too. I have rode many bikes working at the dealership and knew what I wanted plus I knew the owner and history of my bike. Looking to sell it for a FZ1.

Last little thing is a friend bought a R1 for his first bike, rode it 50miles and sold it. He said he needed the money but the look on his face after riding the bike told me he was scared of it. lol

I sold my 03 R1 to my buddy. It was his first bike.He kept it about a month and sold it because he knew he would end up killing himself on it.He had the front wheel come up on him and he skipped over three lanes of traffic before he got it back down, while his girlfriend was on the back. That was the last straw for him.
