Avgas is not good fuel to run at low altitude. It has no lubricants in it. If you require more octane, stick with race fuels. If you're running less than 12.5:1 compression ratio, anything higher than 91 pump fuel is an absolute waste of money, and will hurt your performance because you will not completely burn the fuel. Octane is the resistance to burn. I'll never understand why people think that running race fuel will make more power. I guess it's because it is called "race" fuel.

Alot more responsive, started alot easier, and premium pump gas would crackle and pop and backfire sometimes during low end idle when woods riding. I didnt get 1/4 of the carbon buildup in my exhaust with race gas either while didnt seem to be burning too hot either. My guess is that even lower octane race fuels will run alot better just because it is so much cleaner.
