I had a case that looked the same way when i went to my local machinest to have the bearings pressed off and on the crank he saw the witness marks on the bearing and said "check your clutch parts somethings wrong" and I be damned the bushing was shot in one ofhte rollers. Marks are from bad clutch parts. Check your rollers.

good you mentioned that, noticed one of my rollers in my SRX clutch has to much play in it.You spin it and it is noisy, while the other 2 are quiet and fine....
In this sport I am finding out that to many parts wear out and you have to keep on top of it.When you get stories of guys buying a used sled, assume everything is great on it because the last owner told them so, then you have things start to go bad before you know it.Yet I bet there are a lot of people that don't do routine maintenance and just start and go every year until they blow up....

Reminds me of the old days...late 70's to80's.We rode our Yamaha's without ever checking nothing more then maybe the chaincase oil level. We never fogged them, never looked at clutches, never checked bearings, ran purple farm fuel in them, did unblievable jumps and landings with them and they never failed us ever.Go figure....

But when someone basically sells a sled and looks suspicious and a good saleman..back off a bit.But we all have to learn somehow..I did when I bought my SRX.Suspension was basically all done on it,alignment was way off in front.I am sure the sled was rolled, slight twist in tunnel, crack in the hood..but just wanted to buy it and didn't know any better. At least my motor is strong and consistant. The other things I can change and have.

the cases are better than what he has right now and i do not see a problem with the marks.

post his name not to slander just so other members know to watch out for him ...he knew or he wouldnt have told you to turn the idle up and run it to auction ....i wont be slander just one ty member looking out for the other members ...and if he makes it rite that shows he is atleast willing to accept some responsability ....

as soon as everything is done and I have a final list of everything I had to do and the results of our conversation I will post a final conclusion!!!! for sure!!!
