Well........ took advice and tried amsoil interceptor........ that shit sucks/..... carboned up to the point I had to tap valves out,;;... I run 2000 miles a year on that sled for the past 3 years..... The rest of my 1500-2000 are split between my others.... I will go back to yame oil,,, as I have not had build up so bad that it sticks,,,, gummed up a bit maybe but not to the point it sticks and freezes up..... Found out my dad never had his valves cleaned on his 02 viper after 7500 miles so I did the deed.. no where near the mess as the amsoil... slid right out.... save your money.... This is the second time I've tried this. First was on my doo ,,,,,, at 1500 miles It was twice as worst than 3000 on the doo oil.......

This has been beat to death as you know but im with ya. If its a yamaha im running yamalube. Never had a problem. Both my vipers are a year new to me but always had yamalube in them and no problems. But a dead horse is a dead horse. CCC
I love the stuff. Would never run anything but Interceptor oil in my SRX. Very high quality oil. Superior anti-corrosive additive package and excellent film strength. Also helps keep those exhaust valve guilotines shiny clean.

I love the amsoil products too. Never have I had stuck/gummed up valves or internally dirty engines, when using amsoil. I won't be switching anytime soon.

I USE AMSOIL IN SEVEN SLEDS. FOUR OF THEM OLD. BEST OIL OUT THERE. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Amsoil for me too. Makes me wonder if it has something to do with your riding style, pump setting or something. Do you stop often or like to go 50 or more miles between stops? I personally like to go 50 or more miles before stopping. 2K miles with Amsoil and I can wipe my valves off with a rag. With Yamalube I had to scrape the carbon and gunk off, but it was not that bad either. Either oil and my valves come right out.

I have been using Amsoil also on the SRX..a little gumming going on,not as easy as a wipe off with rag after 1000 km's.Once I run out of Amsoil,I will go back to Shell Ultra,it is a good quality oil also and way cheaper then Amsoil up here.
This last season, I bought a crank from Bender Racing, and they recommended over any other oil, Polaris Gold VES formula (variable exhaust system oil). I put on just over 1400 miles this year, burning 3oz of oil per gallon of gas and the valves slid out w/ ease, when I adjusted them near the end of the season. I had been running Yamalube, and decided to give this a try last season. Pricey at $40/gallon, but it does have a nice smell! lol

sounds like a good price.Try $60 here for 4 liters of Amsoil...

wonder if there hasnt been a change, ive always had good luck with amsoil also 10 times better as far as sticking the powervalves. but this last season was not the case, the srx with amsoil actually was alot worse than the viper with yamalube in it. not know what to make of it since all the preveouse years that was not the case. and i doubt riding style is it cause the srx does alot of hard running and long distances between stops with amsoil, the viper my wife was riding with yamalube so it was putting along alot where you would almost think it would be loading up but it didnt have a problem. thought about going back to klots or something cause of this. even if its onlt the same protection as yamalube i like the smell but i remember klots being good on powervalves also, although it has been a couple years since ive used it. gotta give credit to yamalube this year over amsoil interceptor though.

wonder if shitty gas these days have anything to do with it? little more carbon? just not burning as clean.
A lot of the buildup comes from the fuel. This is increased when running rich.
Obviously we cannot speak for every situation, every sled, or every oil, but Yamalube is not generally the cleanest burning oil.
The cleanest I have found is Legend. It is not synthetic but very highly refined and burns very clean. Evencleaner than all of the synthetics I have used.

I ran Red Line in my SRX this year...valves are cleaner then when I ran Klotz. I still use Klotz in my VMAX4s + SXs as I think Klotz is as good as it gets for "Non power Valve " engines. I only run Amsoil in my outboards + chainsaws.
Did you guys read about the Environment Safe G-Oil Royal Distributing has? Biodegradable Oil, clames to have less ash levels then any other oil. I want to try it, but still a little worried about using cow tallow/fat in my yamahas. They use discarded animal byproducts.

KLOTZ destroyed my power valves. Switched back to yamalube and everything improved.

Zachalyse - Please explain how a synthetic oil destroyed your power valves?
