LIFE MEMBER ONLY ONCE!!!
next weekend will be on the Red for sure..pinned all the way.No Bob TPS not the issue.Think for a second.Ran good 2008..stored for summer ..ran bad in all 2009 and start of this season. It is something I overlooked. This summer I had mice chewing at the pads on the bars and found they chewed various wires also..but fixed all that and still same as last year...running wise.
TODAY..I went from 1 side of the sled to the other tracing wires again..something had to be wacked ..Checked the wires under the pad again, the obvious ones.THEN..I decided to trace each wire back even further. There was a bullet connecter there that I got to and turned it over and the connecter was exposed to the air,the rubbery stuff eaten away 1 side, connection was a little loose.I said to myself..them F'in mice. This was chewed through in summer of 09 then. The padding had only a slight eaten out section, wasn't much really and no nests like this past summer. So I taped it up tight and good not thinking it was an issue.GUESS WHAT??IT WAS THE FRIGGIN ISSUE....there must of been a grounding going on as this connecter was faced towards the frame..so maybe at high rpm's there was a arching going on..enough to maybe allow the motor to open up..yup..can you believe this.Ran all last year like this.
SO THEN..to all you guys out there with performance issues or lack of spark or intermitent issues..usually after summer storage and you take your sled out for the first time in the new season..something is not working right..BLAME the 4 legged..long tailed bast@rds for that in most case.GUYS check your wiring under that pad..it is a must for me now every season. But from now on the pads are coming out during storage and a lot of poison and traps being placed around the sleds.
Can you blieve this was the issue,,never thought it would come down to this..patience and some tracing skills required only....
holy mouse tail Batman..light a match and burn the sled..not YET!!!!
