hey modsrx...maybe if I remove 1 enagement shim,that will drop some rpm on top eh?????????Rather have the motor work its way up to 8500 and not get there to fast and over rev a tad over.

Orchie18, I still have that primary spring you lent me. I got some shims as well. I also have a bender 9970c helix, whatever that is! Be nice to have a control sled in your testing, ie. something that runs strong, to test your changes against. It's so hard to tell what's faster just by jumping in the saddle and hammering it. In 3 years or so the kids will be in school so maybe then I'll have a chance to get some running in with ya....lol. Gimme a ring later on if you want some shims and/or that 9970c.

I agree ken...sled feels different but not sure if its fast till i get out with the gf dad on the apex see if i pick up a few lengths. i may take you up on that offer the blue spring would probably be better. I still seems to labour around 8000rpm but not as bad as it was at 60 wrap its now at 80...any suggestions.

Had a little race at the strip went from being 5-6 sled lengths with my gfs fathers apex to neck and neck....still a little weird at 8000 but so far she pulls good

nice! A little more tweaking and that apex will be looking for clutch parts.

sure you can take 1 engagement shim out and it will lower upper rpms as well.

tried the SRX out today and it acted different from last weekend..don't get it.Have the 8bu10's and 51/43 helix yet installed .Last weekend was 8500-8600 wot and hitting 110 on speedo.It would launch out of the hole at 8200 dead on.
Today it launched at 8000 and worked up to 8500.It seems it was being pulled down maybe because of the snow conditions.The snow is packed down good now and am geting good traction..thus lugging rpms down to 8000 at launch.But am only lucky to hit 100 on speedo today..don't understand it.Last weekend was around -16 C and today it was -10 C,both times running in cool temps.
What would the sled do if I tried my bender 50/40 helix?
set up is .85 inner and 5.3 outer in weights..w-w-w with 2 engagement shims.I am engageing at around 4300..would love to get engagement higher towards 5000..but how?? and have green at 70 with that 51/43 helix also.Stumped here as its never ending with the sled..

USE THE STOCK Y/W/Y SPRING!!!! i liked springs w/2.5-2.75kg rate w/the 8bu weights. also, you can try the bender 50/40, but try the y/w/y spring w/both shims.

using ywy spring would increase my rpms for sure..but as long as I don't over rev to much.Think I will try that 50/40 and see what happens just for the hell of it.Should I be using a red spring at 80 instead of green spring at 70 with it.
I think also with the added traction maybe the secondary won't shift all the way out..sort of trying to backshift..sensing resistance from track

i run red @ 80 on my ported srx, but on my buds stock srx i used green @ 80. try the green at 80

you'll need more wrap w/lots of traction, which i thought you said you were getting. just try it.
