ok I will try it tomorrow.Got the wyw spring in with 2 shims already and putting 2ndary back together.I now see why I wasn't getting good launch rpm today also..I had the green spring wrapped at 60... :o| .Must have changed it after last weekend and forgot I did..that would probably sink the belt quickly and not hold on it it either.I know my primary was ice cold after some wot runss and 2ndary wasn't really warm.Got all day for testing tomorrow anyways......I hate testing..lol.
 
I have my green at 90 which i know is alot...but it seemed to work better that way. Im not sure if its the conditions or temps or my engine but sometime i have a hard time when i pin it it will just sit at 8000 and blaa...but others a i smash the throttle and it jumps up to 8500 and hauls *** to 100...i dont know.?

all depends if the belt drops to quick in 2ndary..then will drag rpm down and that blaa sound.I had my wrap only at 60 yesterday and sure that is my issue..it was shifting to higher gear to quick.I am going out soon to test again and will try 80 with green spring.Have a feeling I may be over reving with it..we'll see.Nice day here to test..sunny,-15 now and no wind...beautiful..

yes but now im back to loaded 8dn's because the snow is gone here and the last couple trips of the year i want to ride! i think i ran out of time to tune my 8bu10 set-up...
 
well ran with the 50/40 today,ywy primary with 2 shims and green at 80.Seemed to pull to 8200 out of the hole with a slight hiccup.Then ran on the River and she pulled to 8400 and got only to 105 on speedo..that's all.Tried 3 shims and rpms at 8500..speed about 100.
Then tried 70 wrap,didn't get to far from home and turned back.It fell flat on its face with 70 wrap..8000..down to 7800 back up to 8200...not good..sounded like I blew the motor..lol..Think I will go back to 51/43 green at 70.With w-w-w last time and 2 shims I hit 110 at least...at 8600 rpm.I think if I go with ywy spring..with the 51/43..she'll over rev to hell..Well I tried..this SRX just making 100 mph if lucky...all new PVs installed last night and adjusted also..I will just ride normal now..no use trying anything more then this..what is is what is......
 
wasn't over reving today really..was about -1 C here(27 F).I really think the skis are slowing me down alot..but man do they ever hug the corners.On the River I am taking the corners at 70 to 80 mph and the sled rides like it was on rails.them ski's bite good..no darting and instant response.
I also notice now I am getting dark belt marks on the fixed sheave of primary also..so belt is slipping there for some reason.This belt was new at start of season...specs good on it.Center to center is still good also.Time for a new sled..maybe a Doo..since Yamaha has anything I want.
 
Blue....mmm...that doo comment is just ridicilous...you must love tinkering if ya want a doo lol....im gonna clean my power valves this week and try out the sled again. my problem seems intermittant which makes me think i need a tune up...ive put on 1200 miles since my last tune up so shes due
 
had 2 doos in my life and was not impressed.This was many years back..not sure where I would go..probably to a good used yami again..if I decide to keep on sledding...but my 2 sleds should last me another 10 years of riding,by that time I should have finished off my body and hit the couch full time...
 
Just tried out my 8bu-10's on my ported, 140-145psi headed srx (-00)! About 55grams
and a thunderproducts spring (68/136). Hauck 51/43 and a green at 60.

Engaged at 4700 with about 8200 out of the hole and moved to 8500.
Pulled really good!! Pretty desant backshift to =) My warrior gonna have a hard time
catch it now!

I'm very happy with the resulst on my first try! And want to thank you all for shearing
your setups,witch ofcourse helped alot!

HEY BLUE MAYBE YOUR NOT PLAYING WITH THE RIGHT HELIX ...WENT BACK TO THE 89A-10 SUNDAY AND TRY MANY HELIX U CAN LOOSE AND GAIN 10 MPH WITH WRONG HELIX GETTING ALMOST THE SAME RPM ...STUPID BUT ITS THE WAY I SEE IT ...FINISH AT 113 AGAIN ON GUN ON 2000 FEET
