Srx700guy... really i have won every event that i have entered in mn except okoboji, ia were i got second to rick b. my trail sled runs 5.8 with 22/38 gearing lets see you get your sled get those times??? And you say 104 you hit. so have i with a stock set up. Only thing i did what tighten the limiter straps and the transfer rods and lowered the front. 20 min set up.
you better come farther north cause you aren't going to win any events that I have been to with a speed of 104mph. that is why I am bumping up my game for next year cause you can't compete with these guys if that is all the faster you run.

i live in Okoboji, ia bring your sled down anytime and we'll line um up.. 500 or 1000 or 2000 you can pick. Or not but im just hear to get faster like anyone else is and ask question when i need them. It seems like every thread that you post on you just wanna say how great you are and how unfair everyone else is ??
where do you get that from? I have never said that I am great. You and Tony just talk like the speeds I say aren't possible. Well they are and they are being run at every radar run I go to. Its not just a one time deal like Tony's so called 110mph with a trail stock sled. If he can run that fast with a trail stock sled and the Ego he has his name would be in the record books. I'm not going to argue with anybody about the speeds I am seeing ran. Just looking for any other setup out there to try.

YOUR CORRECT SRX700GUY, I DID IT JUST ONCE. NOT MY RACE SRX BUT MY NYS REG AND INSURED TRAIL SLED. ONE THATS NOT ALL APART IN MY GARAGE AND YES THE ONE I TRYED 8BU-10,s IN. AND WAS GLAD TO PASS INFO HERE FOR OTHERS. DEFFERENCE HERE IS YOUR LOOKING FOR SET-UP IDEA,s AND GETTING THEM, THAN YOU COME AND BASISLY POST '' NO, I AM GONNA DO BETTER THAN THAT '' . SO WHATS REALLY YOUR POINT. YOU THINK YOU CAN RUN 115 IN A 1000 F.T. AND BREAK RECORDS, GO FOR IT. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Hey guys relax a little no bashing or cutting down other members. You can make a lot of different weights work depending on the gearing and clutching combo.I have been over 105mph with about 6 diffrent weights in 1000ft consistantly and a lot higher then that too but just using that as an example..Testing is the key.

I didn't say anything about the setups that people have been giving are wrong and I can do better all I ever said was I am going to try running taller gearing than stock and you get pissy cause you don't think it is possible. I think you need to open your eyes to the fact that there are other setups besides your 8bu-10 setup than run good! I didn't say I was going to run 115mph. I am just hoping to get close to it. You and bojisrx say that I will be running around 100-105 in the stock class and I tell you that I did that with my sled in trail stock form(right off the trail not lowered no suspension adjustments) and you guys get all pissed off. I know that I should be knocking on the door of 110 fairly quickly then it will just be getting anymore out of it.

Exactly!!! That is my point I have setups already and I am just always looking for ideas on other setups. I don't think these guys understand I am going to be running the STOCK class and not a TRAIL STOCK class either.

It's a good dude. Best of luck i would love to see some more Yamahas out there beating those cats. Its just easier said than done. Every little part here and there 200 bucks a pop. I spent 2000 just to get mine to look better lol. Then a thousand on testing. Sucks wish i had a money tree in my backyard :-) Now i got this 81 440 im picking up tomorrow and i want to paint it all black and put some wahl champ skis on it and a tach. There another 1000.. Yikes

SRXGUY700. One thing that will help you get to those speeds. I would look into calling Pat Hauck and see were you can get some titanium studs. So light and durable. Fast fast fast. But i believe they will be around 1500 dollars...

What runs do you go to in Minnesota? You should come to some of the ones that I go to. They are probably a long haul for you coming from Iowa but I think you would be surprised at the speeds these guys are running.

I will be running a .5" lug speed track with around 96-120 ice picks. In the stock class I can run lowered suspension, slide lubers and a smaller gas tank inside my regular tank.
Their are all kinds of tricks for speed out there. Some expensive some cheap. I am looking at some slides to put on it that are $180 for a set! OUCH!! Just little things that bring more speed.

I see the speeds on NSSR when i check the site. Crazy fast. I can't imagine how much money they pay to get those things that fast. Im pretty sure Don Pizor set up Sandy Reids. he set me up with a good start off set up said it was close to sandys but her speed comes from balance and suspension set up.

Arnt lubers illegal now?
No they are still legal. You are just supposed to use something that is enviromentally safe.

There are about 3 sleds now that are running close to them. I think Don helped Taylor Gullickson out also. If I can get so I can finish in the top 3 out of 4 really fast sleds I will be happy!! That is all I am hoping for! If I get lucky and hit on something that really works and I can be contending for a 1st or 2nd then I will be REALY HAPPY!!!! That is why my sled is getting torn down to every last nut and bolt and being redone so everything is as close to new/perfect as I can get it without spending $10,000 on my sled. I have 2 pretty good racers hidden in my back pocket that I'm getting bits and pieces of info from so hopefully I come out of the box good to start and can just work on getting faster.

Just replacing all the clutch parts with new, new reeds, replacing everybolt in clutch. Right there is 400 bucks probably yikes..

Yeah I know it is going to cost me some money but I look at it this way I don't drink I don't smoke besides snowmobiles and Deer hunting those are my only to things that I "waste" money on so I figure I can spend a little on it. I have alot of the stuff already for it but I figure I got about another $1000 to spend on it before it is ready.

nice.... you gonna do some body work w/ color and looks!!
Yeah a little I'm going to have the front suspension all powder coated either chrome or silver and I'm going to strip the tunnel and polish it. I'm also going to put a Viper seat on it just cause I think they look better. Trying to decide if I want to do any powder coating on the rear suspension was thinking maybe having it all powder coated chrome also. I might send the pipes out to have them ceramic coated and polish the aluminum sheilds. The hood that is on it right now is off of a 1998 SRX600 cause I broke the hinges on the original hood. I tried to find 2000 decals for it but they don't produce them anymore an none to be found anywhere so I got decals for a 2002 but I may just end up painting the hood custom like my original hood was. I had color change flames on the stock blue hood originally. I also thought about blacking the whole thing out but I don't think so not atleast with this sled. Have you seen Valin's sled that he has for sale? the 1136 prostocker? That would be how I would love for mine to look if I did a blacked out version.
