I know for a fact that Titus's motor was a 760BB built by Hauck (redhead style motor). I know his old suspension guy and he said only a handful of these were built and the guy I mentioned in my earlier post was a semi-pro driver on the race team, that is why he had one too and I actually drove it. Being this was an open class and the cc's were capped at 800 this was legal for Yamaha to do. They didn't run an SRX type motor because the SX redhead style was lighter.
As for the Haydays post.......those were stock 700 bore motors. No way Yamaha was slipping 800's in there, they would have never passed tech. The head tech was a friend of mine. Most of the cheating in that time was done with fuel, different ignitions and shaved heads....etc. the little things that could possibly slip by a tech inspection.

The first versions of titus sleds were based off the sx, later ones were based off the viper motor in 800cc.
There, is something, you don't want to put on your resume, Yamaha snocross race team suspension guy.

Yes, I remember the Viper version but that was a BB also.
The suspension tuner I know did not design them. He just had to work with what they had. In fact he told me on Nathan's sled they had like 20 broken pro-action versions laying in a pile. Finally they installed a Polaris rear skid and suddenly their track times were reduced greatly along with reduced breakage. When they hit the first race they realized they should have blacked out the wheels instead of leaving them red and the Japs from Yammie got real upset spotting them right away.
Later they built a mono style rear skid from various parts and ran a single Ohlin shock. (That was on the Viper version mod sled) I know where one still is in fact.

Sorry Big Bore
Also I should re-clarify something. I know where a Facory Race sled Mono skid is.....not the whole sled.

Yes, I did get a laugh out of that too.
The guy is good though. He is on one of the current snowcross team crews as we speak. (hint: they are running Ski-Doo's)

Jeff has got the first generation Mono "OX" for the first generation Viper if my mind serves me correctly. Suspension tuner, my second guess is Brian Straswell.
