Good One For You Guys. 3:16

Hey guys, hate to be the one to tarnish Yammi's well respected reputation but. I bought my 06 Apex GT preordered in 05. At the time it was one of the more expensive of the top line machines from any brand, much like the SE is now. My 06 has not been without problems from the factory. Like handwarmers that barely get warm (which is rediculous because the ones on the srx's worked great), bogie wheels that are junk, hyfax that in some cases don't last 500 miles, headlights that can't get the hi & lo beams within reasonable proximity, rear Ohlins shocks that are terribly calibrated, titanium exhaust that crack, rear suspension arms that crack, I could go on but I think you get the point. And if any of you doubt this, check the 4-stroke side for a little insight. I truly believe that Yamaha builds the best "quality" sled on the market. But, they are not without their issues either.

I've always been a Chevy lover.I raced them, owned a 69 special edition Camaro for many years(still regret selling) and other cars and trucks. Own a 99 silverado now, but would not buy a new one, after all that has gone on.

wow! Ive been on this site for over a year and Ive never heard of someone having that many problems minor or not.

It seems to be the direction that all companys are going...build things with cheaper parts with as few labor hours as possible...to decrease their overhead as much as possible and increase the profit margin.
There is very little testing time for a new product anymore, we the consumers are doing the testing for them...and they act like that is fine since they don't charge for the repairs/recalls...but the lost time we have hauling them to/from, not to mention a very seasonable machine that we can't ride while snow is on the ground for the couple of months we get.

I work for a company that builds wind turbines. They do very little testing and then just replaced/ revise the parts as they break. Seem silly to repair the parts 300 feet in the air when they could slow down a little and build it right from the start. I am sure it has something to do with the share holders promised so many turbines with go out the door. Glad to have a job and things should be turning around for us quality wise. We got bought out by a larger company .

Like I always say, Wind power will never take off unless the government can figure out a way to tax the blowing wind !

Cant be any worse than the '03 Firecat... Ohh wait, Maybe it can.
I have a relative's 2003 F5 that makes its way into my garage every year; and I usually say multiple time: "WTF were you thinking Arctic Cat??"

Im a tech at a cat dealer. And we are tell the customers not to use the reverse till we get a fix from cat. Lol . The more I work on cats the more I miss working at a Yamaha dealer ship

You don't have to be using it for it to malfunction. Gwinn TY ride a new turbo 1100 shifted ITSELF!! He was riding along and the beeper started. Looked downand the R light was flashing. Nex thing RRRRRRRRRRRRRR... CLUNK! Got towed by Maim 8 mi. back to the hotel.

I was with my buddy 3 weeks ago when he was on his first ride with the 1100 turbo Sno Pro. (I think thats what it was, never really looked at the disgusting mess) His back up alarm stayed on all the time. He was told by the dealer the reverse issue was corrected by Arctic Cat but they must have missed this one. lol

.............and supposedly Cat is going to stop using Suzuki as their engine supplier in the near future. They want to make their own motor like Polaris does. That idea for Polaris made it a bit over 10 years and now they have vacated the Osceola,Wi plant in lue of a few cheaper labor southern states plants and a plant in Mexico. So it will be interesting to see how this pans out for them.

wish these big companys that make tons of money as it is would get over the cheaper labor thing. gunna run this country worse off then it already is financially wise by moving out.

Did Yamaha ever have a recall on the best and fastest sled ever made according to you guys, the SRX? I think I remember a lot of junk cranks when they first came out. I can tell you one thing I bought a 2002 SRX last year because I heard how great they are and I was not impressed at all. I'm glad I sold it. It rode like a tank, the suspesnion was worse than my 96 Phazer, and it really wasn't that fast. It was ok, I could beat other 700s except for the 03 F7s. Mach Z 800s F7s and XCR 800s would walk right away from me. I did run a couple other Srx's and they all ran about the same. One was a little faster with more compression and Mach Z carbs. Now I'm back to a 03 F7 with 600 miles on it. We just need some snow so I cam make the SRX's run a hide.

comes down to setup.... setup, setup, setup. clutching, clutching, clutching. a lot of the srxs on here. with guys with the right clutching ideas will run with or pass that cat. the catch 22 is with the cat it may be fast know one denies that.... BUT...will that cat still be running or broke down sitting in the garage with the hood up and dust collecting on the motor within the next thousand miles. thats the Real question.

Not gonna feed the troll here but.... Yamaha recalled the cranks and actually did the repair work on them for free back in 98, and ya your bagged SRX would probably lose to all those sleds mentioned. But remember that the SRX wasnt designed to be a long travel ditch banger but I guess you know that.
