Good One For You Guys. 3:16

I guy I knew who rode a Mach1000 wasn't to impressed when it grenaded out on the Lake at WOT and I mean GRENADED to pieces.Somewhere is the $7000 range to repair.Fought whith the dealership on that..but the fool went out and bought another doo after that..some people never learn..oh yeah..this guy has lots of money to burn also..so don't think it hurts him much after he blows a Rotax motor..he reach's into his pocket and buys another..a little to brainwashed and he is a crazy guy to ride with...dangerous!!Not only does he keep blowing up his motors ,he has broken almost every bone in his body from all the crash's he goes thru...some just don't learn I guess.

you said it andrew k. that bad *** fast putty tat dont mean crap when it breaks all the time. I used to work at a cat yammi dealer. The only reason the owner had cat was because of the service work. They came in alot for all kinds of stupid reasons. Now the owner has given up on cat cause there such a pain in the *** to deal with. The company that is.

on the Lake the SRX was hard to beat..there are guys on here who have taken all them sleds mentioned and beat them, guys beat the Mach 1000 and wildcat 1000 without sweating.SRX's are still at the drags after 10years and still competing well...don't see many Doos 10 to 12 years old doing that...mind you the SRX is one SEXY BEAST..not an ugly yellow or green combination of #1 and #2 if you know what I mean..lmao

Did Yamaha ever have a recall on the best and fastest sled ever made according to you guys, the SRX? I think I remember a lot of junk cranks when they first came out. I can tell you one thing I bought a 2002 SRX last year because I heard how great they are and I was not impressed at all. I'm glad I sold it. It rode like a tank, the suspesnion was worse than my 96 Phazer, and it really wasn't that fast. It was ok, I could beat other 700s except for the 03 F7s. Mach Z 800s F7s and XCR 800s would walk right away from me. I did run a couple other Srx's and they all ran about the same. One was a little faster with more compression and Mach Z carbs. Now I'm back to a 03 F7 with 600 miles on it. We just need some snow so I cam make the SRX's run a hide.

So you bought a USED 10 year old sled and you are here to trash on it. What part of USED don't you understand?

BTW, in the first years of this sled's existance it not only WON the World Series of Ice Drags in the stock 700 class, but also in the 800 class. The sled was owned and driven by a guy in the town I happen to live in.

NUFF SAID!!

And how did that same sled do against the F7s when they came out? The F7s have been winning the 700 800 and 1000 class since they came out.

F7s are fast no doubt. so were the tripple mach z's, I owned one myself. the 1000's are junk though imo. but the srx dominated in it's day too. I'd be more surprised if something faster didn't come along than I am that something did. that's the way it's supposed to be. bottom line I'll line my srx or viper against anything. I win some, I lose some. I have fun either way and they still hold their own for 10+ year old sleds.

well said Jeff..I just don't like the rotax engines..they sound like crap to me.I owned a Doo before and guess what..the engine blew on it,the chaincase exploded another time..after that went to Yamaha and been having reliable fun ever since. my Yami dealer years back told me that he had so many Doo guys walking in and were so ticked off at BRP after like 5 blown motors later ,that they were switching brands..and said there were many coming in telling there sob stories on their Doos..If I look at the Kijiji listings for used sleds..a ton of Doos and Cats for sale..like tons and only a handfull of Yami's.NOW is that telling me something..you bet!!!

on the weight rules..sleds should all be in the same weight class..and if need be they should add weight to the F7's to equal an SRX and then really watch them Cats stumble...cannot beat a Yami for reliably and resale. just can't..
My SRX wasn't even running strong last season and a F8 was across the river and I pinned it..he made an attempt to catch and pass me..but couldn'd do it.Bluemonster2 was behind us watching the whole thing and said the Cat tried but couldn't catch the SRX..I felt great after that...

lol. my room mate had a 583 skidoo blew up in a week. (crank) so he buys an older doo for cheap not giving up his loyalty. it was a 536 motor formula plus. blows up in 3 weeks. (crank) again. so he trades his polaris 600 that is known for bottem end issues but he wanted to be safe after his recent dealings so he traded for an 97 artic cat zr 700 guess what 3 days later (crank) twisted the end right in half lol. he asked me what hes doing wrong? i told him nothing... but when you work with junk in the end junk is all you have lmao! true story. all happened last winter lol. hes still on the search for a good reliable sled once he gets some money... right now he has the arctic poo to ride. eltigre 6000 with polaris 400 motor and thats gotin him through for now.

very frustrating.Wouldn't you think the manufacturers by now would have a clue how to build a reliable motor, what is their problem..If I would of bought a Doo and the motor blows up on me like 2 times..I will take the sled over to the dealer and ride right thru their front window as I would be so ticked off that they would want to sell crap to people...Why is my Yamaha's still going strong..with normal wear and tear as most and keep on ticking.I ride my sleds hard also..don't baby them and they are totally holding together.Never been stranded yet on a Yami....

Just rode and worked on an 07 1000 twin long track.

Gobbs of grunt!!!! Fast as He!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like schnitt, looks like schnitt, built like a cheap Chinese Walmart toy. Fit, finish, quality of parts/workmanship is poor at best.

2600 miles, already has had a new engine, primary clutch and other misc parts go south.

Has electric reverse. The guy who owns it was backing it off his trailer after he got here with it and it lurched backwards on him. That caused him to fall forward onto the bars (tall guy was standing at the time). His right leg pegged the throttle which made things worse. Wide open with him laying across the hood trying to get off. It turned and rolled on it's left side just before hitting a Walnut tree. I can't believe they would build a sled with that much HP that will go full throttle in reverse. DANGEROUS!!!

It was more work for me but man. It coulda been bad.

His wife saw the whole thing and wants him to get rid of it. He told her he has been wanting to trade it on a new Apex but didn't want to spend any money. She authorized the deal. Want's the Cat gone. He's stepping up to an Apex. He's happy now.

I didn't enjoy working on it either. A real POS.....................

opsled

actually have the origional eltigre 530 motor here. heres a couple pics... yep thats right the cylinder broke off... happened when trenton was bombing it thru a field. idk if it sucked water or what all i can say is wow. happened 3 years ago before he gave it to tom. lol its interesting and still on topic with the reliability thread so here ya go.
