Took quad out on the ice yesterday and plowed a nice wide straight track. It was a about 600-700 feet and the temperature was real cold. The SRX hit 114 MPH and the Skidoo legend 700 I was with hit 98.3MPH. Finally winter feels like its here! Ohh and the Polaris 500 with a plow, hit 30.8 MPH..... Bam!

This was all on GPS and not the dream-o-meter.

I dont believe this for a second. Somthing else is going on here. I Want to see a video of this. If this is true you need to come join us in the NSSR!!!

he had a 60mph running start prior to the 600-700 foot run

Yea, but 114 mph period out of a bone stock srx????? like yamigod said, what the hell am i doing wrong????

But I am DEFINATLY calling BS on the 117MPH stock viper. Piped vipers are lucky to get up there. you got to be dialed in to the frickin T.

I'm amazed at how many really fast stock sleds that are out there.

Even more amazed that you never see them at a race.

Really fast stock sled + never goes to a race = ????????

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, A gift from Santa,?? maybe??

opsled

Just reading through all of these posts... Many of you are calling BS on my 03 stock viper hitting 117MPH...

This was on my own lake. Virtually glare ice over a 2 kilometer run. (small patches of snow in parts) (1.6 mile run)
Speedo reading 200, and unless my GPS is broken, these are the speeds I was getting through several passes. I have no reason to lie or inflate #'s. I've posted my speeds from radar runs I've been to as well before. I've been to about three in the Parry Sound area. I've always been in the low 90's on those short runs.

96 studs up the middle, stock track, cold day.
I'm sure the SRX's would have been even faster in those conditions.

I had others around me, and this was the MAX. speed reached on my hand held GPS. There was also an Apex running and it got me by only 2 or 3 miles an hour faster.

I don't know what else to say... I'm going to have to take a video or picture of my GPS.
Do you guys not think you could run speeds like this if you had like 6500 feet of space??

Maybe my GPS is not accurate but I'd love to test my Viper out against other machines!

I POSTED WHAT I DID. 110 MPH, 1000 F.T. BONE STOCK 2002 SRX. ROCK HARD ICE CONDITIONS WITH 8BU-10, 138 POUND DRIVER. THIS WAS FROM DEAD STOP ROLL OUT. NOT HOLESHOT OR ROLL ON. OH YA TIMED ON STALKER. (this is slow in this post ) LOL. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Yammiegod3:16 in 1000 feet I think my Viper would still be still running under 100 MPH...

What about over 5000 feet? I'm sure you'd get more than 110PMH.

Take whatever roll on you'd like... Wide open throttle for as long as you want... what would you have pushed then in those conditions?

Im not 100% stock. I bought a track and studs off CB performance and the owner (forget his name) suggested a new helix, so I bought that as well. Maybe 53 degrees or something? Cant really remember, it looks like machined aluminum.

I will take tofastSRX up on his offer and prove these numbers, If Im not mistaken the trail passes over Portage lake, plus the esso sells the only premium gas for quite a while.

I do say we get akrievins up to Nobel to prove the nahhh sayers wrong on those Viper numbers. Who knows maybe it is super fast?

Sure, why not. I've got nothing to hide. For two years in a row I've put up low to mid 90's MPH at the radar runs (guessing that's under 1000 or 1000feet? No idea... WOT for several thousand feet on ice, I've seen 180-189 on the GPS several times! This is by resetting the max speed, and then taking a very good run. Reset every time to come up with these same numbers.

Stock Viper Vs Stock Srx, Srx Wins Every Time Single Pipe Vs TRIPPLE PIPE'S Lol Come On Guys 20hp Less

I KNOW BIG RADAR EVENTS GO 2000 F.T., SORRY 1000 F.T. MY LIMIT. 3:16 (yammie tony)
I HEAR YEAH LOL I AM GLAD THERE ALL 1/4 MILE NOW 2000FT IS A LITTLE FAR IN MY OPINION

I know a SRX will win always over a Viper...
In 1000 feet I know I'll get dusted...

My original post was meerly saying that in a 2 kilometer stretch (that's over 5000feet guys) , on bare ice I was topping out at 117MPH... 189 kms/hour on GPS.

I really want to know what your SRX's will do over say 5000 feet... YOUR TOP OR MAX speed! Some people love the 600-1000 ft races... My sled is stock and can't run with all the clutched sleds, but in good conditions, top speed is pretty good on a stock Viper. SRX will always be faster than a stock Viper though. I love the SRX and all Yami sleds for that matter.

Found my post from 2 years ago...

http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=59285&highlight=radar+run

I hit 177 or 110mph then... about a cm or so of snow on the entire lake... Was fairly warm out.

Last year I did 189 or 117... bare ice with patches of snow... really cold day. Maybe wind helped out too... I dont know, but these are the numbers I got.

Is it possible?
you should come up to parry sound one weekend we will have a totally yamaha party lol and drag races see how many ski-dont's we can smoke and tow of the lake lol
