District 9 (where I mostly ride) still does not have trails open. I expect to see a lot of green over the weekend. Got that groomers? Get off your asz and prep those trails.

Trails are open from north of Owen Sound, and south to Palmerston.
Some of the crew I ride with got home at 3am. Left OS, went south to Markdale and across to Kimberly before making their way back.
They were knocking down 4' drifts and lost several times due to white-outs.
The trails near Kimberly are still marked red. Some of the feeders were almost bare in the fields when I was over Meaford way for a drive a couple days ago, but that was before we got any new snow. Groomed, but thin.

Ready for the free weekend of riding in Quebec
The trails here are pretty good too

Where are you going to ride in Quebec?
I haven't decided where to ride tomorrow

since you guys are getting a big storm that hasn't been seen for a while,I heard that if the snow on your roofs gets to heavy and big,and you don't clean it before you get 8C above and rain Monday, you may have roofs caving in easily with all that weight..so be aware of that. You can go sledding all weekend, but coming home to a caved in roof would not be pretty..there was talk on the news already that there will be a lot of roofing problems going on in the Toronto and surrounding areas..just BEWARE of this issue guys and happy sledding there.. :sled1:

Ahhhh crap, just had to bring that up didnt you. Guess I best be getting on that myself.
Good point that people forget.
its your roof....just a heads up of course.I am sure a lot of people can't do it.But imagine if you had like 2 feet of snow on the roof and then rain comes and soaks it...wouldn't want to be around when all hell breaks loose.Biggest problem will be ice jamming also, getting under shingles and into the house.I have seen some older homes with major ice damning and one guy had to call in a company with a commercial steamer.I was working in the home, when time to go home basically the whole yard was an ice rink..couldn't walk for falling down..lol..man that was crazy and the guy doing it was an ice-cycle .funny to see..you had to be there..insane stuff.

Yep, I was just out wrenchin and dragging snow off with a rake. Snow rake is one of the best buys ever.
The main is a 13/12 pitch...never a problem, but an addition, shop and shed needed it. I just dont like doing it. Now I have to go blow the snow.

On another note, snows, blowing and drifts are everywhere. ;)!

well what started to be great winter for me just turned into the worse winter..
me and group of buddies went into the hills today awesome powder but bitter cold. getting near the end of the day, i was leading the pack and caught the edge of 6ft holeon a open cut over somehow my foot slipped and got jammed against the hole with the weight of the machine on it. i tried to shake it off but it hurt like hell and my foot starting swelling inside my boot.made a v line home , hoping it was just bruised . i think it fractured because i can't bear any weight on it. gonna lose at least 6 weeks snowmobiling and bumming around on crutches and that sucks.on the bright side look at all the #$%&* gas money i'm saving :whine:

well at least you can rest up for 6 weeks and just in time to start cutting grass when your healed..Sorry to hear, but things happen that you can't avoid..lucky that's all it was...could of been worse yet..enjoy the rest and just recover from it for next season...what a bummer.

A couple years ago I crack my knee cap at the begging of the season and I was back on my sled the next day. Sat back far cause my leg was kept straight and bunjie corded my boot down so it wouldnt slip off. theres a guy on here ( sorry for forgetting his name) that has no use of both his legs and he still rides. Cant let a little "bruised" ankle hold you back from 6 weeks of good sledding!

thanks doug! we had rain last week and now we snow mines everywhere holes just drifted over with snow. your right it could have been worse a few more feet to the right and I would of had a trip to the hospital and a wrecked snowmobile. Oh well lots of time browse the site and chat. Still cold in your neck of the woods. _25c with the windchill here today:brr take care and have a safe season.

most likely if it's fractured it will be in a cast. Got to get xrays monday, but it does feel broken. fingers crossed it's just bruised but bad luck seems to follow me.oh it was JD viper who snowmobile's without the use of his legs, hats off for the courage and determination he has.

don't have the SRX running yet, waiting for PV cables but will be riding the 600 all weekend.Snow is plentiful here and the weather finally smartened up.It is only -8C here now,-5 and -7 for the weekend..gonna be nice for riding.Next week also decent temps as well to ride.Hope your ankle isn't broke, but will be sore for a while.

We got close to 40 CM of snow. Trails in district 9 are starting to open up. 16,000 KMS of trail so far open. Yeehaa. :sled2:

You'll want a synthetic cast if it comes to that. They're water proof. Sit back and just ride the nice trails but have someone with you in cast you get stuck or off the trail and need help.
Cheers.
