my viper and venom are now for sale. I will finish out my paid VIP membership here. Then selling out my collection. I'm not joking.

Yes for now I will stay with what I have...although I like the new Viper crossover, when I compare it to the 2013 Cats everything looks identical...chassis, suspension, guages, headlights, cowling, panels ect. So all it is, is a Arctic Cat, built at the Arctic cat factory, with a Yamaha 3 cylinder engine and Yamaha decals...Does that make it a Yamaha? Opinions will definately vary.

Wow.
Now that it has been confirmed.... this news is a dagger in the heart of Yamaphiles.
This is like when the Packers signed Jim McMahon as a quarterback.
It's like hearing your wife ran off with a pipsqueak accountant.
Shock and disgust. Arctic Cat? Really? ..... I think I'm going to be ill.
Time to head to the bar for a long stay.

First off, this is not a life changing event for me. No crying at my camp. There is a reason I have a 2002 SRX and 2 1997 SX700's. I have bought new sleds every 4 or 5 years until I got my SRX. Now it has 13,000 miles on it and I am still in love with it. Second, where ar the pictures of the engine in the chassis, the side exhaust, the detailed rear suspension, the weight specs, ect...

The upside is that there could be a Yamahe 800cc 2stroke on the way. The downside is that it could be a cat motor.........I think I just threw-up in my mouth a little!

Do you have a source to verify your claim of 110 lbs lighter? I've been looking for a weight spec. and can't find one anywhere.

Well they definetly are a good looking sled ,cat looking or not. Im with you on the fit and finish part, hope it stays as its always been. Hey and lookat it this way it looks like it will be assemabled in the good ol USA!!! I know Im thinking I want one. Ive never rode a nytro but guy I know has one and just loves that motor. So it should be a snotty sob. Price aint bad either so see what kind of incentives yami comes up with. Maybe I cant talk my wife into buying me one since I bought her Harley. Hahahahaha I must be smelling to many fumes trying to get my damn sx working
When Yamaha came out with the Phazer in the 80's the snowmobile world was thrilled.
Then came the Vmax 4 another shocker to the snowmobile world.
Then the SRX 700 lake rocket.
And now this shit, all that 4 stroke technology and they can't even put a turbo on it.
And now they expect me to drink Coke out of a Pepsi bottle. I think this is a major let down for their customers. And a shit one year warranty. Sorry I'm majorly disappointed at this one. Couldn't even put a new name to it, had to use the Viper name.
Is this the part where they expect all the Yamaha and Cat guys join in a big circle and sing kumbyya.

I would buy one in a second. I too was thinking there was no way they would do a full size yamacat. But i was wrong again. Now that ive seen it and had time to think about it i like the sharing of technology or chassis/motor (call it what you like). We all wanted a better riding sled and are constantly changing skids (2 stroke and 4 stroke sleds) to cat, doo, poo and we still call it a yamaha. Now the work is done for us, granted this is not a big strong redone apex which a lot of people wanted but it fits a big segment of people. I am locked into my vipers for another couple of seasons which will give this all a few years to shake out. I even have a feeling they have somthing else up their sleeve yet for next season, we shall see. Now to keep these vipers together for a few more years!!!!

should of been a new name for sure as turch said..I would now say that this site has to change names as it won't be totally Yamaha made sleds anymore.I am thinking a lot of guys will ditch and go else where.Hang on to your old Yami's guys as they were the best ever built by Yamaha.Got to go to arctic chat and dootalk as there is some interesting talk going on there as well. The way my SRX is running now..I would keep it and spend a few bucks..long track it with modern skid and I will be just as happy as if it where the new Viper..for less $$$
Should be interesting if a lot of the snowmobile sales started turning to Polaris now..time will tell.I guess we all know now which way Yamaha is headed for in the Industry..R and D is dead.

That was a half assed video. My srx rides great in those conditions too.
I want to see it getting pounded on. Wait for the tunnel to bend, or the belt to rip in half.

Arctic Cat Announces Engine and Co-Brand Agreements with Yamaha Motor Corporation
Combines Arctic Cat’s snowmobile chassis and suspension with leading 4-stroke engines; Gives Arctic Cat customers broader range of snowmobile engine choices
MINNEAPOLIS --
Arctic Cat Inc. (NASDAQ: ACAT) announced today that it has entered into an engine supply agreement with Yamaha Motor Corporation, expanding Arctic Cat’s purchase of Yamaha snowmobile engines starting in the 2014 model year. Arctic Cat initially entered into an agreement to purchase Yamaha 123cc 4-stroke engines for its youth snowmobile in 2009. This agreement has now been expanded to include select 4-stroke engines from Yamaha.
Arctic Cat’s Snow Division Vice President and General Manager Brad Darling said, “The engine purchase agreement with Yamaha, combined with the engines that we plan to manufacture in house, will provide Arctic Cat’s customers with the most well-rounded engine choices when it comes to technology, reliability and horsepower.”
Arctic Cat’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Claude Jordan stated, “Our current Arctic Cat snowmobile chassis is renowned for its lightweight, bump control and precision handling. Combine that with the new performance engine options from Yamaha, as well as our state-of-the-art engine manufacturing facility in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and we guarantee there will be exciting years ahead for Arctic Cat enthusiasts.”
In addition to expanding the engine supply agreement with Yamaha, Arctic Cat also has expanded a co-branding agreement to build select Yamaha snowmobiles in Arctic Cat’s Thief River Falls, Minn., factory according to Yamaha’s specifications. This agreement began in 2012, with Arctic Cat building the Yamaha SRX 120 youth model snowmobile, and now will include full-size performance snowmobiles starting with model year 2014. These snowmobiles will be built to Yamaha specifications using Yamaha 4-stroke engines.
“We are pleased that our relationship with Yamaha continues to grow and with the opportunities ahead for both companies,” added Jordan. “Going forward, we believe this relationship will provide tremendous value to Arctic Cat, our customers, our dealers and our shareholders.”
Arctic Cat Inc. designs, engineers, manufactures and markets all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), side-by-sides and snowmobiles under the Arctic Cat® brand name, as well as related parts, garments and accessories. Its common stock is traded on the NASDAQ Global Select Market under the ticker symbol “ACAT.” More information about Arctic Cat and its products is available at www.arcticcat.com.
