03 Viper going long track

I don't understand why they would advertise it as 12" and then machine it to almost half an inch longer, but I guess they have their reasons. I forgot to check what mine was last night... I'm sure it will be the 12 3/8 like you if that's what they are selling.
I'm long tracking my 99 Vmax SX 600. Hopefully start on it tonight....who knows how long it will take if I have to get it machined somewhere! :o|

Let me know how it goes. Hopefully it goes in fine without having to get it machined.

Had to see what the seat looked like on my sled tonight. Just waiting on a nytro light to get here before the seat goes on. Devilin AblueDress, boss has all different kinds of colors for the seats. Its only $35 more for custom color panels.

Seat looks good on your sled! "Merry Christmas to me!" hahaha

Just an update on my rail extension. The extension itself was a little snug when mounting it to the skid. But as far as getting the skid in, it went fairly well. I didn't get mine machined, and it looks more like the example pictures you posted of other sleds. It's a bummer you had so much trouble with yours! Glad you got it to work and your sled is looking great!

No hyjack intended but c-biscuit can you measure your rail extensions compared to agepetro's? Are they the same as agpetro's? Curious to know why his was so far off??

I want to know too. kind of wondering if mine were a mess up and was told otherwise.

I will try to get a more exact measurement tonight, but I'm pretty sure it was around 12 3/8. I measured real quick when I was putting it in the skid.

I was also at the not quite 12 1/4 but not to 12 3/8. Mine are at that 12 5/16 measurement. So in the end we still dont know anything or have a reason why?

I have no idea why mine would be so far off. The only thing I can think of is the rear axle holes were off. When I had my rear axle all the way forward there was still a 1/4in gab in the adjustment. So the axle could have went farther forward but was already bottomed out. I still don't know why mine was so far off though.

Got a little update, yesterday I got a package in the mail. Got mine nytro taillight from Eric (ssx600) on the four stroke side. Thanks for the taillight!! Got to putting it on my sled tonight. Here is the progress so far.

I thought I would put up a picture from back in 2009 when I first got the sled. Its crazy how much different it looks now. Actually went on a good ride Sunday with a few of my neighbors and a few friends. I've never felt so good after a ride on the sled. No back or leg pain at all. But on a side note the ride was full of break downs. Had a cat down in 3 miles with an electric problem which is fixed now. Had a Polaris 20 miles in lock up the chain case at a stop sign. Went to leave and another cat had the recoil lock up. Had to start the sled with a rode rapped around the primary. Went and had lunch 40 miles into the trip and one of the guys with a ski doo was talking about a big drag on the sled when he would let of the gas. As we were about to leave one guy saw that the tunnel on the doo was all broke around the front bolt for the skid. End of the day we had 3 break downs and a messed up recoil.

Got an update on my sled for this winter. Last winter I talked about getting some slp powder pros for my viper. Well I got this in the mail the other day... Went with sly dogs 7in powder hound skis over the powder pros. Can't wait to try them out, just waiting for snow. Got a few feet back in later November and a foot this December which all melted away.:o| Needs to get cold and snow again. :letitsnow

Your sled looks great! Just read through the whole thread! Now that I finally got some detailed pictures on the SRX rear heat exchanger setup, I think im going to do it the sam way you did... I just installed mine, but I put it under the tunnel and cut made the hoses go under the extension. It was actually already cut like that when I bought it so I re installed it on my sled the way the previous guy did it... Looks stupid. I will make a build thread when I got time and show you guys! But again, Great job!!!

The white loops brings the white on the hood & the seat together. Looks good!! ;)!

Thanks a couple of bucks! Thats what I was going for with the skis.

eric.s.t,

Happy the pictures helped you out with how to mount the srx cooler. I used a tracks USA tunnel extension on mine which just works with it. By the looks of hartmans tunnel extension you would have to add on to the rear of the extension to make the srx cooler work.
