We have about a foot of snow here by Saskatoon Saskatchewan. Supposed to be around -5c tomorrow and I'm going out riding with a couple buddies. One has a 2008 crossfire 8 and the other a 2005 summit 8. Bringing my tow strap with me...

Went out for about 8 hours yesterday and it snowed the whole time. Came home to about 8 inches of new snow.
Trail conditions were fair to just plain horrible.
Sled is caked in mud with sticks hanging out of the grills, need atleast 1 new carbide and wont know the rest of the damage until I have a look today. The ol srx took some hard hits in crick beds and washouts.
Not to mention it's ol owner has been tenderized. Need more snow.

Really? I thought there was lots of snow up there. I heard the trails were great!! Where abouts are you sledding up there?
We took the vintage out yesterday for a run across a lake then up a river. We also cleared a ton of trees off the trail too! Great day, but we still need lots more snow as there is only 3-4" of powder on top of 2" of ice...kinda like riding on rocks yesterday, lol but it was fun!

Two inches of ice. I'd be inside with that much in a drink before considering riding on it. No where near enough. No wonder so many go through it.
You must be real lucky especially on a river where everything is changing and there are no constants in ice thickness.

More snow than all last year, but the freezing rain crusted everything and the snow beneath didnt settle. Just like dust.
Some area's are decent, some are Just moguls. Not good ones.lol
Exposed rocks and logs in some bush trails. Dont dare blow through a corner in some of the fields. Enough snow to hide the projectiles beneath and that makes it dangerous.
Railbeds and Saugeen to Port are good. Inland is all bad.
Bad enough that even I wont ride until more grooming is done. lol

I should've been more clear...there was already 8-10" of ice then about a foot of snow. Then we got that ice storm that brought nearly 2" of ice, and then the 3-4" of fresh snow. I wouldn't dare walk on 2" of ice! Lol river is only a foot deep, so if ya go in, you'll only get wet feet!

back into the deep freeze here again..I think we are now the coldest place in Canada..actually in North America.Going to -35 C and -50 or more in windchills..Not a good season at all, lack of snow also with the cold..and it will continue right into January.I am guessing sledding is done here as the cold persists./At least I got 40 miles on the SRX this time around..again saving on fuel and from freezing as well.Ski Hills here are shut down due to the coldness and a lot of trails not even open..gonna be a lot of revenues lost this season I assume..I am happy to be inside staying warm at least and the Hydro Bills are climbing..guess where my money is going to this season..starting to really hate this winter and driving in the City is insane with lack maintenance on the streets with a lot of ruts everywhere..maybe it is time to move to a warmer place like Alaska...lol
no riding here today also -38 and -51 with the windchill aaaaaaaaaa NO!

turning pretty chilly here this week (not even a tad bit as bad as been posted) but non the less the lakes are starting to freeze up with being in the negatives every night and 10*f highs. looks like a storm for Thursday but have to wait and see. we have had snow that has been around for a while but just not enough to do any thing with, O well have to see how it goes. still haven't got our sleds back from the shop so 0 Miles for us so far!

It's supposed to start warming up here on Thursday, they're calling for -8. Hope it does, there's a snowmobile rally in our little town here on Saturday. Hopefully you'll get that warmer weather over there too Blue!

Lower east? You might as well just go to Ashland.. They got 31" of snow last week, and about 20" on our first storm 3 weeks ago, and I dont think they have seen temps above 30* since thanksgiving, so its all there
Yeaaaaay! Manitoba was colder than Mars today and yesturday
