Found this, it matches my center shock numbers pretty well. Don't understand why Royale Distributing doesn't carry them. Weird. Seems like they would work and the price is reasonable aspecially with free shipping.
Problem is when I tried to buy one off the website a message would always pop up saying they don't ship to my area. Double weird!
I ordered the rear shock ( also Kimpex gas shock) from Royale D. 113 $ is a great price and will probably make a world of difference from the original 17 year old one!

Vincent, my father has an 05 sx venture that we put a set of olins my brother had on his 02 sx viper. they bolted right in but I should have used the rear venture spring as I had to turn it way up on the olins spring to make it work. the front shock from a rx sled will work as well and I know the 04/05 war ones are rebuildable. his stock oil shocks where toast before we hit 3000km.

Thanks guys for the responses. Very good information.
Just finished up all the rear skid inspection, repairs, new sliders and full lube up,. More surprises then expected but it's all done and ready to go back in. Minus my two new Kimpex gas shocks witch have been ordered and are on their way.
Next, clutch overhauls!

Did a Kwik check of my chaincase today. All seems well there. Closed her up, reset the chain tension, and filled it with fresh full synthetic gear lube.
Also ordered all my clutch bushings from yamaha. Yamaha offers a Primary clutch maintenance Kit. Includes all new bushings, rollers etc..... all the stuff for the secondary clutch like bushings, plastic slider shoes etc... are individualy ordered. No springs or weights on this order.
Total came to 390$ with taxes! Ouch! Plus my two Kimpex shocks, and new sliders equals 720$ with taxes double Ouch!
If you want to play you have to be willing to pay.....

You are really REALLY rolling the dice w/ that chain. It is too long. Probably 2 links. How many teeth top & bottom are you running?

It's stock 22 / 39 gearing with the 70L chain. The arc looks identical to the images in my Clymer shop manual
Though I'm sure the chain is a bit worn and a new one would offer more peice of mind .

It is definitely stretched and has been shock loaded too many times. The more bend that the tensioner has to take-up, the more power is lost.

Not only do you lose power but with too much bend in the chain it could snap. I had a chain snap on my sled because the previous owner had too long of a chain in it, chain snapped, blew apart the chain case and damaged the gears.

Decided to change the bearing in the chaincase cover, and the bearing in the chain tension idler. Both were ok but original. The new ones feel a bit tighter. They were both a pain in the a$$ to replace.
Also took on the challenge of disassembling my clutchs, splitting the primary, removing every slider, roller, plastic washer, weight bushing, and main bushings. Replacing everything with all new yamaha supplies.
(Very expensive!)
Again, what a Pain in the A$$ that was! Every bushing were excessively tight and difficult to deal with without the proper tools to remove and install them. But after hours of tedious work I manage to replace them all without damage. The clutch sheaves, weights, rollers, sliders etc... All have zero slop and move much smoother then previously. Big difference!
Can wait to enjoy the fruits of my labour!

You inspired me. I drug my sled out of storage and fill the tank with fresh gas. It started up without too much problem. I did my skid and shocks last year and only ran less than a 1/2 tank of gas, so I'm good for this year. I do have my Boss seat and risers to install.
