old gas or clutches?

I would recommend using oem parts if you rebuild the clutches. I used the cheap kit on primary and secondary and had to modify the bushings just to get them to fit in the clutch. If you take the cap off and push the primary in and look where the bushing sits when the clutch is disengaged it can get gunky from sitting. Might be able to clean that with some fine sandpaper and it may help. The secondary could have the same.
^^X2. I think he's referring to the rollers, bushings, buttons etc. The wear items. You need to disassemble your clutch and inspect everything. Measure your rollers with a vernier. Give it a twist and a wiggle to see if there is slop in the bushings. The spider buttons could be wasted too. Then you'll know if you have a broken spring or what have you. I've seen them dirty enough where the movable sheave would barely slide on the shaft. Take er apart. While your at it check secondary spring, buttons and helix for wear too. [emoji4]

As soon as I can get home.

I have a clutch service tool for quick inspections of weights and rollers

I will always use OEM weights and rollers

exactly you wanna pull the cover off, and go right through the whole clutch.alot of times the belt dust is building up, and causing drag.or a blown belt will wreak havoc on a primary clutch.

Fresh power valves and perfectly adjusted.

Cleaned carbs again. Installed new pilots out of yamaha wrapping while soaking pilots I had in there in seafoam.

New belt.

when working on the secondary, flip the belt inside out, and make sure that the belt if flush with top of the sheaves, or 1/16 above. change the three bolts,or add or remove washers to get the correct height.

Hard to tell from the pics but that could cause a problem. You should be able to slide the sheaves together pushing on one side. If not it is definitely worn and a groove would not help either.

It's not the primary....

It's the secondary.

The cam buttons are so worn out, it was causing the 2ndary to bind not allowing the clutches to shift at all.

It was like keeping the sled stuck in 1st gear.

Make sure to buy Yamaha cam buttons. I think they are graphite as opposed to plastic. The cheap ones won't last you two days. They are complete junk.

I forgot to mention they are sending me oem cam buttons. I did not see a need for a new bushing
