How could we blame them, there was nowhere near the amount of pollution then as there is now, how could they forsee it?
 
They knew the ozone was depleted and there was a BIG HOLE in 1970.... STUDIES say if they started taking care of the problem in 1970,, the disaster would have been avoided.. It is a really big thing in a lot of states in America.... CHINA and INDIA (third world countries) STILL POLLUTE and do not care what happens to the earth... (kinda like our forefathers acted 40 years ago).. I was 9 years old in 1970 and I was worried about NOT GETTING caught SMOKING CIGARETTES and I was worried about not getting BEATEN UP and my BICYCLE STOLEN!!!! The BLAME has to start somewhere and I think the "horray for me and SCREW YOU" mentality is still prevalent today!!! Maybe EVEN MORE PREVALENT today.....
 
you hit the nail right on the head there nos.I am a caring person and I go beyond the call of duty when it comes to work.I will go out of my way to do extra for people and not even get a thank-you for it.People are colder now then ever before.It is a me world and SCREW YOU mentality basically exists in society.Why has it come to this?Why are there so many people that just want to CRUSH you these days.GREED!!!!my friend.It is all about GREED.This is one of the major reasons this world is doomed.I try hard at work to please our customers and way beyond for the sake of the company,but some will still turn on me and backstab me.Should I then treat people COLD AS ICE to and say SCREW YOU to them.It's not in me.Sure there are a select few customers that I could of taken a BASEBALL BAT to and not feel bad about it...just a select few.
GREED will destroy us all in time.Me I don't care about being rich,I see how rich people act and how they treat people like dirt.WHY? Because they have $$$$$$ and they are better then you. GREED man!!!!I am sick of it.Because of my line of work to do the best I can,I pay the price with back pain,neck pain,headaches and I am ready to call it quits.Again I rarley hear a thankyou from people.Even our company has new young owners now and they are starting to make the company leaner.Cut backs everywhere.The morale with all our installers is quite low right now.Me I stay out of it,do my work and go home.GREED again and more profit the way I see it.Good for them..hope they are happy if one day all us installers walk out together.
I think I am doing ok in life,could of been better for me if I didn't go thru a divorce and loose a ton of money in an apartment block I bought and had to sacrifice to get out before I went bankrupt.I am a surviver and will keep plugging away,but man the world is falling apart.Where are all the good people? I think I am good,I will go out and help others no problemo.I need to get out of this rat race and retire up north where it is peaceful and people will most certainly be more friendly in a smaller community.
Hopee the next generation can be better and do better or else that's it.
 
I TOTALLY agree with you BLUE,,, except the part about taking a baseball bat to "adjust" them.. You said that you "could" have when I, in fact, DID to a couple of idiots... I was 9 years old and a kid KEPT BEATING ME UP!!! Everyday,, he would chase me and I would have to run away and hop fences to get away.. Sometimes I would get cut up from bushes or rose bushes and went home bleeding like a stuck pig!!! Sometimes he would POUND LUMPS into me and MY FATHER would beat me AGAIN when he got home for not sticking up for myself... I would get BEAT UP at school and then again BEAT UP AT HOME!!! One day,,, coming home from school,, I was TIRED of getting beaten up and tired of being picked on,, so,,,, when MICKEY started after me, I picked up a garbage can lid and THREW IT LIKE A FRIZBEE and hit him right in the neck.. He hit the ground and I took the garbage can lid and put it over his head and JUMPED UP AND DOWN for about 100 jumps before some neighbors heard some other kids screaming and parents came out and tackled me to the ground!!! The ambulance came and took MICKEY to the hospital and the police took me to the 008th district lockup... MICKEY spent a long time in the hospital and ME in a school for "problem children" because I tried to kill him... The police asked if I wanted to kill him and I replied "YES DEFINITELY!!" They couldn't get over how I wanted to kill him... I couldn't get over how WRONG the police thought?????? I spent 4 years in a "special needs" school (4th to 8th grade) because of the incident between Mickey and I... I grew up watching the television and after the nightly news,, there were LISTS OF soldiers KILLED in the LINE OF DUTY EVERY NIGHT!!!! I understood that if you were BAD, you were killed!!! i thought all the bad people got killed for being bad!!! Mickey screwed with me... I'd KILL HIM!!! I still have trouble with the whole "laws" thing and I also have trouble with the "double standards" thing too,, Needless to say,, I TRY AND TREAT people good, I give homeless people money occasionally,,,, I even go into the supermarket and PAY FOR someone's groceries ( and not tell anyone that you do it).. i try and make a difference in the world,,,, YES,,, I do my share of polluting and I do have 2 snowmobiles, a dirtbike, a 73 cuda, and a RACECAR challenger,, so as far as being "green""" its NOT ME!!!!! But,, I can help in other ways... I go to rehab centers and hospitals and help people that are less fortunate than I,,,, and I try and be a good person to people...... You're right about GREED DESTROYING US,,,, I have trouble with guys at work making more money than I..... I also have a GOD in my life that doesnt give me ANYTHING that I cant handle!!! One of my friends talks about trusting GOD and helping others!!! he's very spritual ( as is a LOT of my friends are)... We TRY and do the right thing for the right reasons!!!!! I wander where this kid Mickey is today.Is he a police chief or a gang member.Guess he never touched you again nosboy.Lucky in them days guns weren't as previlant as it is today,Mickey would of been shot full of holes.Wouldn't look good when he would have to drink something,becoming a human sprinkler...lol

Hey nosboy,my stepson is in Wisconsin at a Christian Bible School.He and his classmates have made a trip to Chicago.Told me a story when they went out for pizza and were coming out of the restaurant and walking down the street.There was a guy with his hand out looking for some money.They decided to give the guy the Pizza they were carrying that was left over.The guy took the friggin Pizza and tossed it.They,being Christian and wanted to help were like stunned at this.The guy was down and out,at least take the damn food and feed yourself.These kids aren't wealthy,my stepson saved wages for a number of years in order to pay his tuition and boarding.He actually gives some of his money to other students there that have nothing.
I should tell him to look you up sometimes.He is a good talker and can express himself very well,reminds me of you.He was beat up in school to when he was younger.He had to change schools at that time.He tells me that there is to much crap happening in the world so he decided he wants to help fellow man.He is even willing to go into the war zones to help the people and teach them the faith.I told him that would be to dangerous of a thing to do,that he may wind up dead there.Most of his buddies all had drug problems and the such.He has turned them all around to decent human beings.He also tells me everything is falling into place as the Bible is saying.He said the end of times is coming sooner then we think.He is only 24 years old and has chosen his path in life,and to help others along the way choose their path .He could of ended up worse in life.
 
Mickey wound up stealing my best friends girlfriend, knocking her up, and having 3 children with her. He fought golden gloves in the Chicago Park district and I don't think he won anything,,,but,,nevertheless,,,fought...... I am sure he got a lot of his practice beating up on me... My pastor (Father Matt Foley) is going into the military on June 01, 2008 and asked to be sent to the 82nd airborne,, he wants to help others and carry the message... You can see the interview on youtube,,,, He is a real straight up guy and he amazes me up on the altar!!! Kinda gives me a little hope!!!! tell your stepson to keep the faith and to not be disappointed when someone doesnt accept your handout... Maybe that guy really needed a hit of dope?????? It's not for me to judge WHAT HE NEEDED,, Its only for me to HELP!!! Maybe he would have died without that hit of dope??? I DONT KNOW????? As morbid as it sounds,, MAYBE a drink or a hit of dope is what he NEEDS??????? I know that a program of recovery is by ATTRACTION and NOT PROMOTION and maybe,,,just maybe,,, he will ask for a ride to REHAB....... it is REALLY enlightening saving an addicts life... You should try it sometime......
 
Mickey and I eventually became friends and EITHER OF US never brought up that incident ever again!!! I havent seen him in a while but he called looking for a bunch of cocaine and I couldnt get involved with that!!! I saw him and his wife a few years ago and she looked very sick.. I'll say a prayer for them!!!

Yep reg was $3.39(around here today) and cost me $75 to fill up the Silverado from empty!!!! Its gunna be one expensive summer of fun thats for sure. I normally go up north(220mi one way) every or every other weekend in the summer, got the truck to fill to get there/back, boat to fill for tubing/wakeboarding, dirt bike to fill with premuim. Will gas prices stop me? No......Will I bitch about? Yea....Will I have fun doing all those activity's? Most diffently!!!!! Do I think whats going on is right diff. not when they blow there mouths about them making billions of dollars in profit. In my eyes its only a matter of time till something happens to break whats going on.
 
I'm 24yrs old and I worry about things will be like when I'm 50? I have a great pension going with USG corporation so they tell me, you can retire when your 48 they tell us at work. Do I believe this? No! Will I get Social Security when I'm 60? Probably not. I've managed to build myself a small house to live in, so thats a plus. All we can do is keep plugging away. These days you don't know what to believe anymore. The whole global warming issue, I think is a crock, look at the winter we had this year in Michigan, seemed pretty normal to me. Gas prices are another thing, I drive truck for a living. Our trucks get 6.5 mpg "C-12 Cat" and people bitch when you drop a load of drywall for them and they get a $150.00 fuel surcharge. But we have to make our money to and cover our own costs. So we all feel the pain in some sort of way and all we can really do is be smarter than the fuel companies, conserve the fuel we use and ride out the storm. Hows that saying go "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer" ain't that the truth these days!
 
I have always wondered why when USA went over to "save" Iraq, why wouldnt we have a deal with them to buy 100% of thier oil exports at a certain agreed price? We are already giving them millions to rebuild why not get something for the money but more importantly the lives spent over there to give them freedom.
 
That saying is soooo true.There is always a bill to pay ,no matter what.Our wages stay pretty consistant,but does not rise up when everything else goes up.Our gas here now is $1.20 a litre already.Food is starting to climb for a while already and we see the prices in restaurants going up already.Some independent truckers out here are already threatening to strike if they don't get paid more for their efforts.Could get real ugly in a while when our gas is supposed to shoot up to $1.50 to $1.60 a litre.
We are at $5.48 a gallon here now,you guys in the states have it good yet being in the $3.39 range.I like to see what you say when your gas hits past the $5.00 mark.We are already used to it.I do not drive more then I have to anymore,and even drive slower speeds on the HWY.Yet the local government here wants to raise the speed limit from 100 km/hr to 110 km/hr.AH...
won't that just make us suck more gas.More tax grab for the government I guess.If you are rich,I guess you don't really care about it.Come sledding time next season..if premium is about $1.60 a litre,I sure won't be riding the sleds much ..that's for sure.I'd be burning more gas with the sled in 3-4 hours then I would with my truck in a week.Selective riding I guess.
Could be looking for a smaller truck for work one day,a 4 cylinder motor instead of my 351 v-8 in my Ford.I want to retire at 55 hopefully,so cutting back anywhere will help me.And I think once gas gets to that high price,that it will never GO down again,not by much anyways.
We are living in a volatile world now.I won't be buying any big purchase items and don't even go out much anymore.To see a movie once in a while I can handle,not big on going out to restaurants anyways and blowing $80 for a meal.I am cheap!!!
Did a job for the company today for a Doctor.You should see this house.It is a million dollar home...huge.And a cute blonde shapely little woman this guys has.The nanny who works there,told me his wife does not work and just spends the money.This guy owns 2 Medical Clinics also.So the rich get richer I guess.Hey they can have it,big house like this doesn't turn me on...but his wife does...lol.What a looker.I imagine he isn't home much and that she gets lonely.Typical situation in lot of these cases.Guess he don't care about the price of gas.
 
Yea Bluemonster, my old man is in Toronto, CA on lanuch for the 09 FORD FLEX and he was blown away with the prices of everything on your side. He said he doesnt know how some people make it with the prices of everything wether it food, gas, clothes, cars, etc. So I have a little bit of an idea how things are on your side of the border.

IMO both Global Warming and this so called WAR are a JOKE!!!!!! Its all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. If you think were still over there cause of 9/11 your as blind as Stevie.

One thing my old man keeps telling me is start putting money away now or you wont have a pot to piss in when its time to retire. Esp. not knowing whats gunna happen in the future with SS and such. So every week $40 to 401k and $100 to IRA comes out of my check.

Is the USA really the LAND OF THE FREE???? Not in my eyes its not

Just to let some of you know.gas has just hit $1.259 a litre out this way for regular.That is about $5.71 a gallon. Now it is starting to hurt a bit,and it will continue to go up as long as the world oil price per barrel climbs.:dunno:
 
Only $58 now to fill up the vette with premium fuel today and the tank was bone dry.

I get 350 miles to that tank. Half my driving to work on HWY and half on streets.
