Michigan Laws???

I've "bagged" a couple of deer with my CHerokee and my Durango.. I'd just WISH those hunters would QUIT chasing those deer out of the WOODS and into the path of my VEHICLE!!!! It RAISES MY INSURANCE RATES and scares the HeLL out of my wife!!!!

Ride all the public land you want, just stay off the marked trails. They are closed until December 1st.

nosboy the trails are not marked public /private. So how do you get you are going to stay on private property? The trails are open december 1ST for a reason . Which is for hunting . 800000 guns in the woods and you want to ride and burn up slides the trails are not ready anyway and if they were you just give people the ammo to not let the trail go through there property. Just my 2 cents nighttrain9

I am PROBABLY just going to DROP OFF the sleds and go hang out in the casino and TRY AND BEAT the Indians out of some coin.. IF IT DOES SNOW like a PIG,,, I will do a few LAPS around the "hood" though!!!!! Dont get me started about the "cops" thing!!!!!
Well how did you make out?Up here we call it Donation To The Nation

Broke even at the casino ( made around 50-60.00) BUT,, loading the sled back on the trailer (only went through the woods and around the pole barn) the DUALLY RUNNER wearbar caught the lip of the trailer,,the sled STOPPED and DESTROYED the 2 pieces of angle iron (aluminum 3 inch angle) and TWISTED the heck out of the 3 inch aluminum tube that the trailer PIVOTS on.. I COULD WELD IT MYSELF,,,but the trailer is 300 miles from my MIG WELDER..... so,, it costs 280 to have a neighbor weld it... OH WELL......

There was about 20-25 sleds at LOST PINES lodge and they said the trails were OK... (we drove there by DURANGO)...

Current Trail Condition: (11/30/08)

It's snowing;

Trails are shaping up, 8-12" with more in the woods! with a solid packed base.

Groomers are out!!!
Please check our Web Cam To see for your self)

We will try to keep you informed of the conditions here at the Lodge. Check back daily as you never know what Mother-Nature is going to do here in Michigan.

Please call us! for Actual Conditions! 1-231-389-2222

Remember Ride Safe!!

( actual TRAIL REPORT from Lost Pines Lodge) Don't you think they would TELL YOU the trails open TOMORROW if it was true????? Do you think the groomers would be grooming if the trails were closed????? COME ON GUYS!!!!!

do you expect the trails to somehow just "Be Ready" when the trails are open? Of course the groomers are out. They have to pack and condition the snow so it will stiffen up to get a good base. It does the trail no good to have the earlybirds out there tearing the crap out of them. The trails are all groomed by local clubs so show some respect. If you knew what they went thru you might think a little different.

Just because the groomers are grooming(more than likely at night), doesnt mean the trails are open to snowmobilers for riding.
I will agree that there is nothing on the DNR site ,that I can find anyways, that says they are closed. But go to the bottom of the MSA home page and it clearly says they are not open untill Dec 1st.
http://www.msasnow.org/

That sucks about your trailer, why so much to get it welded?

I think it is a TYPOgraphical error or something of that nature.. I THINK the authority is the DNR and if the DNR says that snowmobiling is allowed Nov 15th thru 30th with conditions,, I would tend to belive the governing AUTHORITY and not some orginization... I will e mail msa.org and ask WHERE they get their information from,,or do THEY just make up their OWN RULES...

2 new c channel pieces are being installed where the CHEAP 3 inch angle (aluminum) bent all up.. The R&R trailers are REAL CHEAPLY built and I've had NUMEROUS problems with R&R trailers and I REALLY DONT KNOW WHY I bought another one.. I had a 4 place Rance Renegade trailer that was around 12 grand and it was BEAUTIFUL.... but.... REALLY hard on the tow vehicle!!!!!!! Next is a TRITON 2 place enclosed and I'm done buying CHEAP GARBAGE trailers that I have to fix all the time...

If the "orginization" is the one securing and leasing the property, your wrong! Its no different then Power lines that run on state land, by law, your not suppose to trespass on them either.

NOSBOY take SnoXR word for it!!!!!!!! Dec 1st is when the gates open, if you go around GATED MARKED TRAILS(Private Land) you will be considered trespassing on private land......Just remember most property owners are gun owners/hunters......so show some respect........... You will cause Private Land owners that let you OUT OF STATERs ride through their property, to close down and ruin it for the rest. You dont live here!!!!!!! Dont tell us OUR rules you know nothing about. Oh and BTW I shot Bambi's mom this weekend so I have knowledge of both seasons. I just got home tonight this(tonight) being the end of rifle season but muzzle loader is open into Jan. Also these gates Im talking about are closed during spring/summer/fall for off road use, the trials that are open run MOSTLY through public land.

Power lines are not always public land either and are not always part of the trail system.

You dont know the rules, dont ride here!!!!!!!......hunter or not

ALSO what do you know about the DNR since your such the outdoorsmen?????

The DNR RULES are a few posts back.. I am really getting irritated (to say the least) about people making their OWN RULES.. The TRAIL GROOMERS cannot tresspass JUST LIKE any other private individuals cannot tresspass.. So,, if you tell me that it's ALLRIGHT for the groomers,,,than it's ALLRIGHT for the rest of the people... LOST PINES LODGE had around 20-25 sleds in front on SATURDAY.. there were 20-25 SNOWMOBILERS that were enjoying the trail system.. I RODE THERE in a DURANGO,,therefore I DID NOT utilize the system PLEASE dont come up with some SMARTASS comments about ME STAYING HOME!!! Theres an IDIOT born every day and FOR SOMEONE to DISREGUARD the LAWS and think they are sticking up for the WRONG ANSWER,,,,well,,, lets hear what MSA.org says about the "rules" when I get back the e mail today...

Nos, even if they say that legally they cant stop you from riding on state land marked trails, dont you think you should respect "their" rules? Since they are the ones going through all the trouble of keepping the trails the way they are.
Id hate to see a few "REBELS" ruin it for everyone else!

I know what you are saying about the R and R trailers, my first enclosed was . The main beams both cracked all the way through right behind where the axle mounted! :whine: I had to have some reinforcing plates welded on each side.

There were TWENTY sledders at LOST PINES and they said the trails were NICE and in good shape.. I get a LITTLE ANTSY and haven't been on a sled since MARCH 2008,,so,,, I WANNA RIDE.... I've been going back and forth YEAR AFTER YEAR with 1800 MI4-snow and they hire a bunch of RETARDS that give BAD TRAIL REPORTS and they used to say DECEMBER 15th was the start of the season... PEOPLE make up their own rules IN GENERAL and they have their own preconcieved notion that things are BECAUSE someone said they are... Like going outside with a "wet head".... NOONE has EVER caught a cold from having a WET HEAD,,,but,,, there are MILLIONS of people that think that's how to catch a cold... A COLD is a virus and a virus is spread through OTHER PEOPLE ,, NOT WATER on your head!!!! Office@msa.org came back as UNDELIVERABLE,,, so,, I'll try again....

I re-e mailed them with the PROPER address,, Lets see what they say!!!

Hey SNO Xr.. If MSA cannot respect the DNR's rules,, I CANNOT respect the MSA's rules... I would MUCH RATHER respect the GOVERNING AUTHORITY (officers with pistols) than a group that CANNOT or WILL NOT RESPECT the laws of our NATION... WHATEVER laws they may be..... The DNR says it's fine to sled from November 15th thru 30th IF YOU FOLLOW these simple guidelines.. WHY CANNOT MSA follow these guidelines also?????
