Father and daughter viper project!!

Got the white holeshot skid plate yesterday, elizabeth and i really like it. And today we got our brand new 8DN-00 belt that i scored off of ebay for $32 shipped. Very nice score because you cant find these anymore. The "01" replacement belts just dont seem the same. A little bigger i think. Been sticking with my "00" as long as i can. I keep a close eye on specs and keep them clean. A pic!

Can't wait to see it on the sled! Btw I am considering spray painting my screens white, what kind of coating did you use on those pink screens?

Thanks! A lot of things will work I'm guessing, just hoping it doesn't fade / scratch off easy.

Ive got 2 seasons on mine and the wifes with the siver and not a scratch. No flaking, peeling or fading. Seems to hold up well.

Finally got around to ordering the last of the parts today. New grips, secondary clutch buttons (who would have thought those would be so expensive) and decided for now to keep the oem ski's and just go with the white precision loops. Also some handlebar hooks with pink gel grip tape. I really want new skis for it but enough is enough for now, and besides dad needs new skis way worse LOL!!! Gonna get that skidplate on tomorrow if i get the time and some help after elizabeth gets out of school. Pic's to come! chris

Thats a great idea also. Ive read alot of good things about the mountain skis on 121's. I could even go to the saddleless and use my loops, carbides and bumpers. That would only cost about $120 brand new. Hmmm!

How expensive were they?

$13 a piece. On its own i guess it doesnt sound like much but when you add it up for 3 now your talking $40 for 3 tiny pieces of plastic. It just kinda struck me funny, i figured they would be like a buck or two a piece.

Wow...I just saw this posting(late to the thread)...
Congrats to you both..this sled looks awesome!!!...
Gunna show the wife the dishwasher shot and gunna
show my daughter the before and after. Hopefully she'll
get the Sledding bug(she's 6yrs old)..

Got the skidplate on, piece of cake with my new harbor freight $30 hydrolic air riveter. Never again will i struggle with a hand one. Man are they nice. Im going to paint those belly pan rivets black so they dont stick out so much. Also i kept looking at the front and my suspicion that the front bumper frame was bent from a "bump" as explained when buying. It will have to wait till next year as im not tearing the front end apart again this year. It doesent effect anything and really you cant tell unless really looking for it. I know the wifes is bent also from last years fender bender between her and elizabeth. Good offseason project for both. Real happy with how it turned out, and the white loops will really set it off. Few pic's

i think only the last year of the moutain vipers had the good moutain ski that they still use on the modern yamaha mountain sleds. they work really well as both my brothers and my father have a set on their sleds.
