i think only the last year of the moutain vipers had the good moutain ski that they still use on the modern yamaha mountain sleds. they work really well as both my brothers and my father have a set on their sleds.

05 Mtn Vipers were the first saddleless skis, also first for the Pro-Mountain suspension. They were good in snow deep enough to make them float, not really a "trail" ski, but they do work. If you ride in crusty snow, where the top is a little crust and the skis break through, we've found these want to rip the handlebars from your arms in that snow condition. Just be aware of that. Love these skis though, have ran them on a MM, Vipers, Apex's, and Vectors.

Thanks, thats exactly what i dont want for her. Ill probably just stick with what i have for now and get her some new ski's in the future.

Well im sure a lot of you are just like me, cant stand it when something just aint right. So i went and took a look at that crooked bumper. Well turns out the frame bar was bent and the hood latch needed some work too. Got out my enforcer and a 2x4 and knocked it back in line pretty good. Lined up hood latch and it came back nice. Its a thousand time better. The bumper is almost perfect now and the hood is just a touch off. The hood even fits on the belly pan better now. Pics before and after, you can see in the before that the right corner dips pretty good if looking at the sled. Pic with tractor in it is before!

So true, so true. That stupid thing bothered me all night! LOL! Hi, my name is chris and i have a problem! LOL! Thanks for all the great comments guy's. Loops came in the mail this weekend so ill take a look at getting those adapted to her ski's sometime this week. Hopefully the rest of the small stuff will be in and i can wrap this one up. Then on to the next!

I was in the Hardware today and saw ACE had pink duct tape on sale. I had to laugh. It's one mean lookin sled she has there!!

^^ Ya thats a good one aint it laporte! Oh well one of those things. Got the white loops on today and they turned out really cool. I cant wait to get them mounted and see how they look. Just used white nylon 5/16 washers from home depot. 62 cents (thats what those stupid buttons should cost LOL!!). 2 on each side for bottom and 1 on each side for top. Pic's!

Better get some for when she tips it over on the river this winter and knocks the winshield off, lol!

Hey brad good to see ya around! You must be gettin ready to get those crops off soon? After that it will be close to ridin time.

I like your comment on the tunnel polishing. I'm the same way. Maybe do it once a year and 5 minutes down the ditch its covered in sand and salt, and you can't tell that it was ever polished. lol

Well finally got the ski's mounted and we like! I also got the front end lined up and toe out set. Put the new grips on with her pink wraped hooks. Got all the cables and powervalves adjusted and ready. Also got the clutches mounted. All i need is snow for a fire and test run. Cant say im not nervous to fire it up, just hope i got everything bolted down and put back together right!! Keep your fingers crossed. I would just do it now but i dont want to reclean the carbs and fog the engine. Snow is 3 months away yet. For the skis i was looking at shaper bars with the dartless plates but all the guys post for the dartless deals are gone?? Looked him up on ebay and they are now $60 so a bit steep for what they are. So after tons of reading and talking to people i went with bergstom 6" triple points and ski savers. Will shim also. Should be a nice ride for her. Elizabeth and i would like to thank everyone for your advice, help, parts, and encouraging comments. This viper turned out awesome thanks to a lot of hard work and TY!!! Here are some final pic's till the snow flies. Sleds always look cooler with some white stuff around them. So till then.........

Like I've said before, that sled is awesome!! I know the feeling of hoping everything went together right, I rebuilt a 700SX and it's got 200 miles or so on the rebuild already but to this day I still wonder a little bit lol.
