Took quad out on the ice yesterday and plowed a nice wide straight track. It was a about 600-700 feet and the temperature was real cold. The SRX hit 114 MPH and the Skidoo legend 700 I was with hit 98.3MPH. Finally winter feels like its here! Ohh and the Polaris 500 with a plow, hit 30.8 MPH..... Bam!
This was all on GPS and not the dream-o-meter.

so your tellin me you went 114mph. in 600-700 ft. on a stock bodied trail sled? Yeh thats hard to beleive. but good for you, you should win all stock races you enter.

Never entered a race before so I very well could win every one, who knows?
It was just for fun, we were trying for top speed, we took as much room as we wanted before hitting the plowed section. I was probably doing at least 60 mph as a lead in speed, we weren't going for 660ft times.
Ohhhh and don't forget, I before E except after C.
From you first post it sounded like you took off and only ran 600-700 ft from a dead stop. That explains it if you had a rolling start. Thanks for sharing your results
that makes a little more sense. It takes a turbo sled to go 114mph in 600ft. in our area, and thats a mean one.

Great to hear!
Love hearing that you're dusting other 700's as well.
At the radar runs my 03 stock viper walks over even the 800 Doos!
I've done a few wide open top speed runs with the Viper on ice with GPS and I've pushed 189kms/hr. That's 117MPH. Granted, this is over a 2km stretch... and almost glare ice witch patches of snow. The speedo was reading 200KMS per hour!!!!

Im only running 144 studs, I wouldn't get nearly enough traction to hit those speeds in that short of a distance, and if I was I would definitely enter every race I could!
That's super fast for a viper and its stock?
I have never driven a Viper, someone bring one up to the Parry Sound area and we can swap sleds for a little rip!

Howie, what classes are you running this season? I don,t think your going to see alot of 700 trail runners this year! But I'm betting the F-7's start to win that class at 1320'
Good luck down in Haliburton.
PS: Im calling BS on the 117mph stock viper as well! The 114mph srx with the run in on 660 ft? maybe! but it has to be very well set up and hitting the ice at around 90 to 100mph.

I did about 12 runs on the SRX and top speeds ranged from 109 to 114... I would bet the number was increasing because I was making the lead in run longer and longer. I have some video's ill post them when I get them off the iPhone.
It doesn't seem that fast when you see the numbers that The_Paragon posted on the first page, those guys were hitting 120 plus MPH.

Those runs were approximately 2000ish or better feet. All sled run were trail rideable sleds.. no race specific sleds.
