temporary fix of track and it works.I went out for a few runs, not to far from home just incase track blows on me..but used somelimiter straps to tie across the big hole in track and she is holding under hard launch and wot so far.Tried 8bu10's today wuth y/w/y spring....85 inner and 5.7 outer.51/43 green at 70. Sled launches wicked..but is spinning out like crazy.Launches to 8500..once traction is achieved..drops to 8200 and climbs to 8500 wot ..no more.Man the pull is out of this world scary..the rush of the acceleration is unbelievable ... Hit 100 mph speedo in the ditch with the setup..couldn't get that before..straightest stretch I could find.Would like to try on the River..but if I blow track..it will be difficult to get sled home then..only attempt it when someone else is riding with me.Want a Yami to tow me..not a AC..

good stuff if you can get a hold of a hauck blue springs with some shims you should try it. it works nice and launches hard out of the hole. Our river running is done here now its been raining for two days. Hoping to get back out to the air strip see how fast i can get it moving in 1000ft and in the 1/4 mile

the specs are just about bang on the same...i noticed it hit 8500 right off the line as soon as i put it in with a shim. seemed to have more snap out of the hole.

thats what I thought, also have new belt in and have to take out shims behind 2ndary because belt still squeals at idle. Will load up primary with w-w-w spring then.

thanks GOD!!! using 8bu10's are destroying the sled...lol..Motor is finally working good.making lots of power..to much maybe..caused me to blow my track, blow a rear wheel and the bearing retaining plate for the jackshaft bearing is starting to buckle on the inside one..time to put this sled to bed until next fall..to many things to fix on it now and I don't want to blow the shaft, chaincase, chain and driveshaft at this point.Just when the motor is working good now..other things are creeping up..damn sled hauled today to..oh well won't know what this set up can do now for top end..Don't know if I will have funds available to get it up to snuff for next season..so will fog engine good and silicone her down for long storage..still have 3 weeks at least of riding left..will ride the 600 for the rest of the time...
when these old sleds start to cost to much to keep going..maybe time to retire them or part them..we'll see

my SRX is a hungry SOB..lol
Blue your last setup you ran sounds good!! Do you think it pulled the hardest out of any setup you have had in your sled? Did it pull all the way from the start till you let off?bluemonster1 said:my SRX is a hungry SOB..lol

yes it did pull very strong all the way from launch to end.And the acceleration once it got traction was unbelievable.I could hardly focus in on the gauges because of the violant acceleration/pull.To bad I couldn't see what it will do on rock solid snow or ice..I am sure it would of wound up pretty good.It was instant without hesitationn or a hiccup of any kind out of the hole..man I sure was spinning down to China also..but you could feel the difference on just the acceleration alone/loved it.If I decide to get the SRX worked on for next season..main goal is to find a super strong track that can take all the power the SRX dishes out. These camoplast tracks just don't last. Some guys are having good results with Kimpex tracks, not sure what model..but maybe I should go back to a .750" stock lug height with studs.Just have to wait for a sale...but may also put the SRX on hold for a season or so.
we are pretty much done for this year around here. snow is just about gone but I put your setup in my list of setups to try next year.bluemonster1 said:yes it did pull very strong all the way from launch to end.And the acceleration once it got traction was unbelievable.I could hardly focus in on the gauges because of the violant acceleration/pull.To bad I couldn't see what it will do on rock solid snow or ice..I am sure it would of wound up pretty good.It was instant without hesitationn or a hiccup of any kind out of the hole..man I sure was spinning down to China also..but you could feel the difference on just the acceleration alone/loved it.If I decide to get the SRX worked on for next season..main goal is to find a super strong track that can take all the power the SRX dishes out. These camoplast tracks just don't last. Some guys are having good results with Kimpex tracks, not sure what model..but maybe I should go back to a .750" stock lug height with studs.Just have to wait for a sale...but may also put the SRX on hold for a season or so.
As for a track I'm not sure what it would cost to get shipped, probably more than it is worth but if you look in the classifieds TY member TREKKER is parting a 2000 SRX with a like new 1 1/4" track on it never been studded. Might be worth a look

Doug i will say it once and thats it.These are a highperformance sled that will break when beat on with poor matenance!Bearing retainers that have bean put in wrong will fail.Bearings that go dry will fail and take out the jackshaft.Skids that flop around will break bolts and ruin a track. And yes take a wheel with it.There is nothing wrong with camoplast tracks.....you can say you have shimmed up your skid but its not tight everywere or you have a overtightened centre shock spring or the shock is no good at all?Gees i have over 30.000 km on mine and have broken more than you have ever posted.RIDE HARD FIX LOTS.
Wifes sled same miles same sled except a 600 quess what? All origanal except the skid that i changed this year before it fell apart!Differance is she dosent go out racing her shadow all the time!

and I thought Yamaha built a tough sled.I do maintain things the best I can,but one can get to anal about it I think. If it was meant to break..then it will break.Yes I always ride the sleds hard, there is no other way.Put me on a trail with posted speed limits and I will go nuts.Ever since I started sleding back in 1976..that's all we did was race each other and see who had the fastest sled.No different now I guess, but maybe it is time to slow her down and enjoy the scenary for once..lol.I did stop today in front of a baby Deer, shut motor off and attempted to communicate with it.The Deer was just steering at me,walked in circles and didn't know what to do..lolThen I started the sled and reved it..the Deer was gone in a second thru the woods..then I went thru the deep stuff and pinned it again and continued on my way..lol

I'm running a Kimpex track now and so far it has held up great, and I don't baby it either. 500, 1000 and 2000ft radar runs, lake racing and aggressive trail riding and it has held up great. No fraying on the edges like my Camo track did, no torn lugs, no missing clips...all around great review. It's a .750 (3/4") Kimpex "Ultimate Traxion" with 144 pre-molded holes up the middle. I paid less than $400 brand spanking new and I don't regret the purchase one bit. Awesome track.
