I also picked up a used primary clutch with low miles from a srx. It was of course a good deal which meant it was as dirty as they come. It was as black and caked with belt dust as the one im replacing. So i gave it a good soak in that dollar store "awesome" suff of my wifes, scrubbed it real good with my PV cleaning juice and a brush. Rinsed it off and into the dishwasher for 2 cycles. They came out great. Still have to run a green scotch bride pad over the sheaves and a good rinse but very happy how it turned out. Cleaned up the viper weights, rollers, pins, washers ect..... Now ready to put back together with the ring gear. Chris

I rinse them off the best i can before they hit the dishwasher. Then after i run a empty load to give it a cleaning. No problems so far. Just not sure why my milk in the morning taste like brake cleaner! LOL! Chris

Also mounted the new seat bolts that were off one of my other vipers. Elizabeths viper seat bolts were rusted bad and broke when we took the seat off. Got the rear heat exchangers on and installed and the torque limiter. Ill have to align the clutches once were ready. Wasnt bad working today the temps are slowly getting better. About 60F today. Well it was a rainy cold 48 deg F day here. Im sick of this weather. I did here 80's by monday though. Got some cleaning and primer work done today. I wanted to get them powder coated and i was going to have pete (amatosrx) do it for me. But my creative daughter had other ideas. She wants the suspension black and arms silver but then she is going to do a pink splatter paint effect on them. I just dont want to ruin a powder coat job if her idea doesnt work out the way she wants. Then we ordered some stickers that say girls rule to match her shock covers to place where the proaction sticker was. Bigtimefarmer's buddy is making them up for us. Here's a few pic's, and yes washing this stuff in the dishwasher would have gotten me in trouble so i did it while the wife was at work. It got most of the grease and dirt off. Then i took my grinder with a wire wheel and got all the rust off. Was a lot of work but came out good. Then a shot of primer to everything. I did my xt skid and springs this way last fall with a rattle can and it held up great. No peeling or scratching. But im worried how the trailing arms will hold up. The raduis rods will have pink covers on them so no worry their. If it doesnt hold up ill just take em off and off to pete for a good powder coating next summer. Here's a few pics from today. Also gave the can and belt cover a good cleaning. Ill hit the exhaust cover also.

Got a few small things done this morning. It went from 48 F last week to 90 F this week. It was a hair warm in the shop but loving it. Got the belly pan supports and front bumper back in. Replaced my hood springs and mounted the front hood latch. Also built my 4th wheel kit. I used the post from the tech section for my 4th wheel kit. I have this on all my vipers. Keeps the track in place very well with all the studs and turning on the ice. Few pics from today!

I can tell ya it dont take much to make it expensive. My big items were the e start and reverse so far but its the nickel and dime stuff that adds up quick. Yamaha is a lot like Harley Davidsons. HD stands for hundred dollars everytime you go to get somthing for it. LOL!! I would still love a new track for it but for $13 in track clips this ones got a lot of life left. I did find a set of tripple threat skis on ebay in neon pink that caught my eye though. Come with 6" studboy shapers and stage one fins for a little over $300. We shall see!!! The daugter starts drivers training and thats $300 also so i was teasing her, the ski's or driving. She did pause for a sec but drivers training won. LOL!! Maybe a X-Mass present who knows. They would look cool for sure. Chris

i hear you on that! i put on a fresh pair of sliders last season and when i stored the sled this summer i realized that one of the screws that hold the slider to the skid backed out and caused the slider to get sucked up and around the skid about 10 inches which also caused the other slider to wear un-evenly so i need new sliders (and lock tight ) then i have been trying to get a few things here and there, but it is adding up without me realizing it! oh well

Had a fun afternoon today. Elizabeth got to do what she's been waiting for. I got all the parts painted and left to dry earlier during the week. Now for her splatter paint fun. I have to say they turned out really cool. The pictures dont do her work justice. Just have to let them dry and a good coat of clear. Springs will be left just pink and rods silver, they will have pink covers. Also got the shocks cleaned up, they look brand new. Hoping to send to pioneer for a valve and rebuild yet. Pics from today.

Now on to the bad news. While cleaning the spindles i noticed one was bent pretty bad. I checked not to expensive but still sucks. I then checked the control arm and spindle cap and they look good. I knew when i bought it the front had hit somthing so i should have expected this. The other spindle looks good. Nice bend hey guys!
