Got some of the little stuff done today. Got both lights wired and mounted, they look great. Both boss seats set, and the snow flaps on. Got the skis on, not the bumpers yet but wanted to see how they look. They both need to be cleaned up and waxed along with the normal fall maint. Im not sure i want to go with the RSI straight handle bar set up or not. Mine looks good and its set up for my gps perfect. The rsi wont give me the same mounting options as my current set up. I love my GPS and will never ride without one again. The way i have it now alows for everything to be covered under the handlebar cover so for now im leaning to leave as is. Also my wifes track seems to be relaxing nice. The track sag has increased so im sure it will set in fine. Pic's of today! Almost done!

Thanks! The tail lights turned out a lot nicer then i pictured, they look almost like they were always there. Plus with the nytro tail lights they will fit the skinz tunnel bag for a nyto XTX perfect. I really dont need it with all the storage the boss seats offer but im tired of carring my camera, GPS, ect.... in my coat when i go into the bar. As i told the wife the tunnel bag will make me a nice MAN BAG (LOL!) to carry into the bar with me. I think she then said you mean your purse
Nice job Chris! Those mods are sweet! I have 144 tracks and you'll love the extra length in the powder and they'll hook up well on the trails also. I may be extending one of my sleds to a 151 or 155 but that idea is still in the air since the 144s go so well and I can usually go anywhere the 155s go if I'm thinking ahead. After watching your project I think I'll go with Hartmans if I do it. Nicely done and congrats!

Right on So I will look for the man with the purse in the bars and that would be you? LOL

Without a doubt! LOL! I wonder if they make designer tunnel bags.

Lol, I will never carry my bag in again without a little chuckle. As Seinfeld says "It's European!"

I think it will look better when you have stuff in it. They all look kinda funny until they're kind of filled out. Try stuffing some newpaper in it to see what it will look like when you're actually using it. I think it will be cool.

I agree,...the newspaper idea is a good one... when filled out, it will look better.... plus, you need to complete those and start mine!

that bag will look fine, but dont be disillusioned by its waterproof abilities.
from experience, i for one wouldnt store anything moisture sensitive in that bag. you will be surprised at how the snowdust collects and enters that bag. been there, done that.
for a watertight bag, consider the powderpaks. i have yet to have any moisture enter mine, and you know out here we see some serious snow.

all great ideas, but theres only a $20 difference between the two bags. your bandaids have just about eaten that up.
granted, the skins powderpak isnt as visually appealing as their tunnel pack, but for stay dry all day protection, (sounds like a right guard promo) put the tunnel pack one sled and get the powder version to keep the high dollar equipment dry.

Well i started to mock up my handlebars and riser. I just didnt like the stock viper bars with the new boss seat. Too much of an upsweep when you move the bars forward. So after much research i went with the apex bars. Mine are the "07" update bars. Im sticking with the grips as is till i see how they work. Many mixed results with them but we shall see. I have a plan B for grips ready to go. So here is what i came up with. I first did the block of wood thing to find the height i liked which came out to be about 7" rise from steering post. This would come about to be about 4" higher then stock viper bars. So i went with the powermadd pivot adapter 1 1/2" rise and a 6" powermadd block. The height is perfect for sitting with new boss seat and perfect for me to stand. Im 5' 7" (6' with the afro) old chevy chase movie refrence (fletch). The feel of the flater bars with the rise is really nice. I hooked up all the cables and really all that was needed was the 04viper mtn throttle/oil cable. The choke, parking break and wiring are fine. The break line will work if you rotate the banjo fittings on the break and caliper andy you will have slack enough to run it this way. But i did just go to a 04mtn break line just to be safe. I will also run the mx bar pad and wire loom the wiring controls. Few pic's! Looks higher in the pic's then it really is, i fugure about 4" taller then stock. Then i will have to figure out a new mount for my GPS.

Looks good Chris! Those bars look really nice. Does the flatness of them contort your wrists at all when sitting? Maybe that afro would be a good idea to keep my follically challenged head warm this winter. Plus I'd be 6'2". hmmmmm......

Actually just the opposite. The viper bars moved forward felt very awkward, and the apex flat bars feel perfect. The apex bars still have a back sweep like the viper bars just not the huge upsweep. The apex bars are ment to be ran more straight up and down where the viper bars are ment to be pulled back more. I really recommend this mod, great upgrade for comfort.

Well as it turns out i was wrong on the needing to extend the control wires. Just a bit to short to run them the way i wanted and the OEM connections would make a big ugly ball even with the wire loom. I tried it a couple different ways with the same results. Just didnt look good without extending the control wires to under the hood. Not that i cant and didnt want to its that was strike three as far as going with the mx bar pad look. It does look cool but who am i kidding, im not cool! LOL! Stike one was the fact that the bars will be exposed working against the hand warmers, strike two was i would loose my gps mount and mtn grab bar (i liked how it looked), and strike three was the wires not working the way i wanted. So i went back to the mtn bar pad and i really like it with the new hand guards and race flares. Plus now i get to keep my gps mount that worked great and be able to hide all the gps wiring. So here is the final look!
