You might want to check again after Thursday. There are three separate weather systems swooping through West to East. All are snow killers. Freezing rain, rain and more rain with some areas hitting 11C. Basically the snow will all be gone were it hits or some sort of snow cube of whats left. Hard as a rock. LOL
www.theweathernetwork.com is pretty good.

We didnt get as much rain yesterday as they called for and it was 3c instead of the 8c they called for. Today they say 8c with 25mm of rain in the next 24 hours. 9c overnight and 10c tomorrow with a little rain.
It's the warm overnight thats going to kill us.

You guys ever check this out?
http://www.nohrsc.nws.gov/interactive/html/map.html
If you select snow depth from the drop down menu under physical element, and click on high contrast palette under map preferences on the lower left and zoom into your area, you get an idea of what's supposed to be on the ground. I've found that it's somewhat accurate for my area. Does it represent what everyone else has? Just curious cause it's showing 40-50" on the ground in the area where I'm heading to go ice fishing. Unfortunately it does not cover ALL of Canada.

Well amaazing what a week a day or couple days does in the weather department. Beautiful snow sunday now its all gone and we just had some hard rain and bit of thunder. Lot of ice jams in our area creeks and ditches. What a cluster F*CK this weather is. Were supposed to get big lake effect again but with all this water cant imagine things will be all to great.

Yep same here on the rain. But the temp is souring hitting 9C and 4C over night. Thawing for more that 24hrs. Toronto area is hitting 11C but further north I don't know. But the weather man is dead wrong on the rain. Low single digits unlike the 15-20 forecast each day. That the only job you can be wrong most of the time and still be in good standing. LOL

If that is the case how is it the trails are all RED around Fergus and have been all along if there is lots of snow. OFSC says they're closed.Cooper0809 said:we got the brunt of it today, and still have lots left. tomorrow were supposed to get 10-15mm. north bay area 45-60mm...its all goin north.

I was just surprised at the amount of snow still left after all the rain we got today. and yes, it has been RED around Fergus all yr!tripplec said:If that is the case how is it the trails are all RED around Fergus and have been all along if there is lots of snow. At 5am this morning it was 10c and still is with heavy rain and another 20mm coming. Temps are supposed to drop all day to minus 5 overnight with mixed snow/rain later today and snowsqualls by morning.
Right now we still have a foot on the ground but the roofs are pretty much cleared off. Bases of tree's are appearing and rocks coming through. We may end up with a good base in some areas around here, but we'll need some snow. Hopefully it will freeze up before to much snow gets on it. Good cold temps and 25cm are in the forecast for the coming week.
Pretty sure my sled is going to look like a mud bogger again.

Well the few inches south of Belleville in PEC is all gone with the rain and warm night. The thermometer is heading north, 6 and climbing. The a big freeze up on Friday. LOL Ice skating maybe in the puddles and ponds. Some areas saying it may hit 13C.
What a winter.
I had a short ATV ride on the closed trail yesterday on the 3-4" of crusty snow.

We have probally the most snow we've had in a long long time! there is 2.5 ft in the yard and triple that in the Mountains
BUT! the drifts have formed into cement walls, it's freakin dangerous to ride
especially with a no-action yamaha

Well its not evenly distributed anymore. Somebody get 3-6ft in one go and the next guy barely get a half inch. When 2" falls its a big thing. LOL but I can't sled on 2", it just looks like there is snow in a photo.

Well.....we still have a base and the rain stopped a couple hours ago. Windchill is starting up so I think we may come out the other end with some snow left and a base of ice. lol
Calling for snow everyday for the next week so it might be alright.
As long as I have enough pack on top of the ice to turn, I'm good go. Carbides are cheap.

45*+ here come on Mother Nature do you hot flashes some were elts! :P FTW come on (F this winter=FTW)
Well just got back from snowmobiling from the weekend. As my title indicates, it is the Worst Winter Ever. Those that want to argue that can, but I will not listen. Went up to Durham Sunday night and rode until 2:00 am. About 2 feet of snow and trails were awful. Bumpy and not groomed. Went to Markdale and Beaver Valley and went back home. About 60 miles of back breaking bullsh*t trails. Monday morning, it started to warm up. Rode around from around 10 am - 5 pm. Couldn't take the trails anymore. Was hitting rocks every 10 feet. Did about another 60 miles. Started to rain Monday night and kept going. Almost all of the snow is gone and the ground has thawed. This will take weeks to recover. What a disaster of a sport this has become in Southern and Central Ontario.

We have a absolute mess here in western new york. But loads of rain and flooding. Some trails are under water. Gonna be a mess underneath if we get the 12" of snow we are supposed to get and riding wont be for sh#t. This weather is just stupid. Teens last week and now this just crazy.
O2viper700 said:Why do u even have a sled? If u dont have a trailer and nothin to tow with. There is no use owning one in if u live in Toronto. The trails never open there.
I'm tired of people complaining.... I don't mean this in a bashing way at all, Just my opinion.
Curious. Are all your trails still open? January 30th and all the snow has melted from Toronto north. Now do you know why I complain about winters?
