Oh dang, good thing ya caught me. The gas can was hovering over the sled in a moment of weakness. lol
I appreciate it.
I appreciate it.

then it has to be the 2ndary clutch that is out if your shaft is correct.Gears look ok..man this is getting a little crazy.Did someone maybe move the side frame where the jackshaft goes thru???? lmao95rxl650 said:Alright. Using a marginally more scientific approach(piece of 2x4 for a straight edge) at either end, I came up with 20-1/2 from the brake rotor stop clip to the clutch end and 25-1/4 for total length.
Given my method, it seems I may have the correct jackshaft.![]()
But I going to check again.
don't know what more to say on this...95rxl650 said:Seal the deal measurement.
I have 1" from the mating surface/edge of the chaincase to the end of the jackshaft. That means the shaft extends itself into the bearing an inch.
If there's supposed to be 1-1/2 " sticking out past the edge of the case, then I'm screwed. lol
Guy I got the collar from says his 98 700 has 3-7/8 from the bearing out.
I can get access to his parts sled, but not till Saturday.

head on crash coming..lol
mrviper700 said:nope, thats not missing. in post 38 you have a picture of it already, you have both halves of the retaining cup, they do indeed bolt on thru the inside of the frame with the 2 carriage type bolts that are also in the pic.
